Peep the new season 2 promos for the fanciful ABC drama Pushing Daisies — Lee Pace as Ned, Anna Friel as Chuck, Chi McBride as Emerson, Ellen Greene as Vivian, Swoosie Kurtz as Lily and Kristin Chenoweth as Olive. Obviously, the main pic is an homage to the Sistine Chapel, where God’s right arm is outstretched to impart life from his own finger into that of Adam, whose left arm is extended in a pose mirroring God’s.

Pushing Daisies picked up an incredible 12 Emmy nominations. In the major acting categories, both Lee and Kristin were nominated. The Emmy Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2008.

Kristin Chenoweth celebrates the big 4-0 at a big birthday bash thrown by her Untitled Entertainment manager pal Danielle Thomas on Thursday at the Los Angeles home of Untitled boss Stephanie Simon.

As you can see from the pictures, the cakes were in the shapes of giant olives. (Olive Snook is Kristin’s character’s name on her hit ABC show, Pushing Daises. The show received 12 Emmy nominations including one for Kristin for Best Supporting Actress.) There was actually only supposed to be one olive cake, but when Danielle went to pick it up, the bakery happened to make two. (This provided a few laughs at the party, as they looked like a pair of dot dot dot.)

The birthday toast was given by writer/producer Aaron Sorkin. Belvedere made special drinks for the occasion as a little tribute to Kristin’s work in the Broadway production Wicked. (she was also nominated for a Tony Award as Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance as Galinda, the good witch.)

New York Fashion Week opened today in NYC’s Bryant Park with a splash of red! Supermodels and celebrities walked the Red Dress Heart Truth show, a charity runway show to raise awareness about heart disease.

Kelly Ripa wore a Diane von Furstenberg beaded wrap dress. Rachael Ray wore a Donna Karan one-shoulder goddess gown. Angela Bassett wore a Carmen Marc Valvo number.
