Environmentally-friendly couple Leonardo DiCaprio and model girlfriend Bar Refaeli take a bike ride through Manhattan on Saturday afternoon.

Leo, 33, recently purchased a “green” apartment in NYC. The $3-million Riverhouse overlooks Hudson River and boasts low emission paints, a 24-hour fresh filtered air system, a water treatment facility and rotating solar panels. The David Rockwell-designed high-rise will be open for occupancy this summer.

Leonardo DiCaprio continues to show his environmental side, taking his first visit to Hong Kong to promote local bank HSBC’s new “Green Credit Card” on Sunday.

The 33-year-old actor and his eponymous foundation spearheaded the initiative with HSBC, which claims its green card is made of environmentally friendly materials and uses digital bills to cut down on paper consumption. Every transaction will also contribute to a local environmental protection project. The green card will launch in early April.

Leonardo DiCaprio will play the lead character Kaneda in the live action feature-film Akira, reports AICN. Former 3rd Rock From the Sun star Joseph Gordon-Levitt will also play Tetsuo.

Warner Bros. recently announced that it will be taking anime artist Katsuhiro Otomo’s six-volume cyberpunk serial manga (Japanese word for comics) Akira to the big screen. The film is set in a New Manhattan, a city rebuilt by Japanese money after being destroyed 31 years ago.

Not only is DiCaprio going to star in the film, his production company Appian Way, will produce with Andrew Lazar’s Mad Chance.

The first Akira film is set for a summer 2009 release.

Peep the very first photo of Leonardo DiCaprio as CIA operative Roger Ferris in Warner Bros. Pictures’ suspense thriller Body of Lies.

The film, out in 2008, follows Ferris, who goes to Jordan to track a high-ranking terrorist. Russell Crowe also costars as Ed Hoffman, a manipulative CIA boss who teams with Ferris.

Body of Lies is directed by Ridley Scott, whose films include Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma & Louise, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, Matchstick Men, Kingdom of Heaven, and American Gangster. Bigger pic inside…

Entertainmently Weekly sat down with two of Hollywood’s greatest, American Gangstar stars Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe.

Crowe, 43, spoke out on the early days of Leonardo DiCaprio, saying, “You know, I worked with Leonardo when he was 18 [on the Western The Quick and the Dead]. He was a virgin, and he would talk about that constantly. So I’m hoping we have some time so he can fill in what’s happened in between. Maybe show some photos. Because I’m sure life’s different now.”

Denzel, 52, talked about the Oscar buzz already surrounding his performance in Gangster: “What are you going to do? There’s no Oscar gym you go to to get in Oscar shape. There’s not much you can do about it. If you get invited to the show, you go. The work is done. You know what? It beats a sharp stick in the eye that people are talking about it. That’s gravy.”
