British singer Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage, her publicist confirms to UK’s The Sun.

“We can confirm that Lily Allen has suffered a miscarriage,” her rep said. “She and her partner Ed Simons will be making no further comment and we ask that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.”

Lily, 22, and Chemical Brothers star Ed, 37, had just returned home after a vacation in the Maldives when she tragically miscarried.

A source close to the couple has said, “Lily and Ed are in a state of shock. The bad news has been really difficult for them to take and they are absolutely heartbroken. Lily’s entire outlook on life changed after she found out she was pregnant. She was looking forward to being a mum and starting a family with Ed. She had turned her back on her party girl image and had turned over a new leaf. They are surrounded by friends and family who are offering support. It is a really difficult time for them.”

The 22-year-old British singer and her Chemical Brothers boyfriend Ed Simons announced that she is pregnant with their first child mid-December.

Lily, 22, was pregnant during the time of this November photo shoot but she didn’t know it at the time!

“I want to have a child,” she said in the Marie Claire interview. “If I was in the right relationship, I’d like to have child in about two or three years’ time.”

Looks like she spoke too soon! Ms. Allen announced her pregnancy last month.

Lily added, “I’d like to be a young mother, although not too young, and I’d like to be able to live in a nice place that’s got a good catchment area for the schools. And that’s all I care about. That’s all you need.”

Lily Allen’s baby bump is a no-show as she snuggles up with a dog at the opening of the Harrods Winter Sale on Friday in London’s Knightsbridge.

“I’d like to thank [Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed] for giving me the opportunity to open this most famous store,” the young British singer said, dressed in a black sequined sleeveless dress by Jasmine di Milo. “Unfortunately I did come in earlier for a bit of a preview so there’s not much left.”

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria kicked off the Harrods Winter Sale the same exact day last year. Sarah Michelle Gellar showed up for the Harrods Summer Sale.

Lily Allen shows off her new reason to smile–pregnancy!

The 22-year-old British singer was seen clearing out her car before greeting her father Keith Allen with a big hug in London on Thursday.

“I should also give up smoking,” she said last month, “but haven’t quite managed that yet.” Hope she’s managed to now!

Lily and boyfriend Ed Simons (one-half of the Chemical Brothers) are expecting their first child together mid-2008.

Mom-to-be Lily Allen and her Chemical Brothers boyfriend Ed Simons do some last minute Christmas shopping in Notting Hill in London on Wednesday.

The 22-year-old chart-topping singer just announced that she is pregnant with her first child.

“I am pleased to confirm that Lily Allen and her boyfriend, Ed Simons, are expecting their first child,” the British singer’s rep said in a statement Wednesday. “However, as the pregnancy is at a very, very early stage, the couple ask that you respect their privacy, as the health of Lily and their child is their paramount concern.” More Here! »

Lily Allen wow’d the crowds at Rockefeller Center in New York City this morning with Blondie as the two sang “Heart of Glass” together on stage in NBC’s own Summer Concert Series (now in its 12th year).

Allen, well-known for her gutsy and street-inspired clothing ensembles, looked quite elegant in this colorful striped dress.

Blondie, though aged, still managed to pull together a wonderful set to entertain the morning crowd.
