Brooke Shields says her NBC drama Lipstick Jungle hasn’t been canned.

“They thought that because My Own Worst Enemy has been shut down that the same thing had happened to us, and it’s not true,” she said at Sunday’s Cookie magazine Kidsfest in NYC. “They’re not breaking down the sets. We’re still working. We still have more to do, so it’s erroneously presented that we’ve been canceled, thank God. Our bosses are saying, ‘You’re not canceled, don’t worry. We’re just trying to figure out how to make this make sense.’ It’s been insane. I think that the public outcry has been crazy, and it’s kind of wonderful. We’re basically No. 1 if you look at DVR. And you look at all that. So the public is watching it.”

NBC’s drama Lipstick Jungle has been canceled, reports THR.

Kim Raver, Lindsay Price and Brooke Shields played the three female leads. That means no more shirtless Kirby Atwood (Robert Buckley)!!!

THR also reports freshman drama My Own Worst Enemy (with Christian Slater) also got the axe. No official comment has been made by NBC about either series just yet.

Costar Robert Buckley, who is often seen shirtless, was also seen stopping into a corner deli in between takes.

Lipstick Jungle is a look at the lives of three high-powered friends, Nico (Kim Raver), Wendy (Brooke Shields), and Victory (Price). The dramedy returns to NBC in Season 2 on Wednesday, September 24 @ 10PM ET/PT. In the meantime, you can watch full episodes (with commercials) from Season 1 at NBC.com.

Robert Buckley oozes cool in a pair of classic Ray-Ban Wayfarers after shopping at Urban Outfitters in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood earlier this week.

The 26-year-old (often shirtless) actor has been in town shooting the hit second season of the hit NBC drama, Lipstick Jungle, with his costars Kim Raver and Lindsay Price.

Candace Bushnell says Lipstick Jungle, where she’s the writer, creator and occasional executive producer, has complexities a show like Sex and the City didn’t possess.

“Sex and the City was about women looking for relationships. You know, you move to New York and you meet all these great women, and you start asking the age-old question: Why there are so many great women who can’t find a great man?” says Bushnell.

“But once you hit your late 30s and early 40s, I think a lot of women have figured out that part of their life. I have girlfriends who were single in their 30s, and looking for relationships, but now that they’re in their 40s, they’ve stopped looking. They’re fine with being single. You know, finding the perfect mate isn’t at the top of the list anymore.”

NBC Applies More Lipstick

Robert Buckley, aka photographer assistant Kirby Atwood, seems to have quite the limited wardrobe on the NBC hit Lipstick Jungle. So it’s no wonder that NBC has ordered an additional six episodes (for a total of 13)!

Does Buckley seem like a less gruff Scott Speedman (Felicity)?

Lipstick Jungle, based on the book by Candace Bushnell (Sex and the City), is winning its Thursdays-at-10 slot among women 18-49. Kim Raver, Lindsay Price and Brooke Shields are the three female leads.

Save Brooke Shields!

Brooke, 41, was hanging out on the NYC SoHo set of her new television show, Lipstick Jungle, with daughters Rowan, almost 4, and Grier, almost 1.

While inside her trailer, though, Brooke and her two daughters got locked inside! Poor things!

The three of them had to rescued by a crew member who was hoisted into and dove through the window.

I bet Tom Cruise wished the headline really was true!

Lipstuck Jungle is a dramedy about three powerful women in New York and is scheduled to air in fall 2007 on NBC. (24’s Kim Raver and Pepper Dennis‘ Lindsay Price play the other two women.)

Brooke recently reached out to Britney Spears, who is in rehab. “I hope she’s fine,” she told Access Hollywood “I believe she’s going to be fine, and she just needs the support and her kids. She’s their only mom, and she’ll earn that back in her own mind.”
