Madonna and Guy Ritchie have reportedly agreed to end their seven-year marriage.

A friend said last night: “They were both very calm. Madonna told Guy: ‘I’m sorry, I want a divorce’. And he agreed. It was quite painless but very sad.”

One disclosed to the Daily Mirror: “He’s a bit down in the dumps, and who can blame him. He’s off to the country to get a bit of peace and quiet.”

Madonna, 49 reportedly has begun seeking advice from divorce attorney Fiona Shackleton, who represented Paul McCartney in his divorce. Ritchie, 39, is believed to be consulting with Forsters, a lesser-known London law firm.

The couple apparently did not have a prenuptial agreement which could potentially lead to a 50-50 split of assets.

Madonna is believed to be worth about $600 million.

Madonna takes her three kids, Lourdes, 11, Rocco, 7, and David, 2 1/2, to cheer on the New York Yankees at a baseball game on Sunday in New York City’s Bronx.

The Yankees beat out the Cinncinnati Reds, 4-1

How cute is this family??? The kids’ father is director Guy Ritchie. Also at the game was Madge’s manager Guy Oseary.

Lourdes Leon, the 11-year-old daughter of Madonna, brings along a few friends as she cheers on her favorite pop rocker, Avril Lavigne, at a concert held at the O2 in London on Wednesday.

Madonna is currently gearing up for her Sticky and Sweet concert tour, which kicked off in August in Cardiff, Wales. Her latest album, Hard Candy, topped the charts at No. 1 in April.

Gwyneth Paltrow and BFF Madonna have a girls night out and head to the Nobu Berkeley restaurant in London, England.

Gwynie, 35, with Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. have been burning it up at the box office and have earned over $250 million already since opening earlier in the month.

Ms. Paltrow’s new movie, Two Lovers, premiered at the Cannes Film festival and co-stars Joaquin Phoenix. Her experience in shooting that film was much different than Iron Man, saying, “It gave to me kind of a lifeline. I feel like I was really able to be very free and raw and true. Going from being a mother at home for a long time, which is the greatest joy of my life, to feel like an artist again … that was a gift.”

Madonna looks prim and proper in Stella McCartney at amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS 2008 benefit held at Le Moulin de Mougins during the 2008 Cannes Film Festival on Thursday in Mougins, France.

The Material Mom talked about her new documentary, I Am Because We Are, which concerns children orphaned by Aids in Malawi. She also showed a clip from the film.

Madonna said: “To say that this film is a labor of love is true, but that’s kind of trivial because really what it is, is a journey of a lifetime.”

Madonna (in Chanel) joins director husband Guy Ritchie and actress pal Sharon Stone at the premiere of her new film, I Am Because We Are, at the Palais des Festivals during the 2008 Cannes Film Festival on Wendesday in Cannes, France.

I Am Because We Are is a documentary written, narrated and produced by Madonna. This movie documents the concern over the millions of orphans in the African country of Malawi who have lost parents and siblings to HIV and AIDS, many of whom live on the streets. The film also shows the efforts with Madonna’s charitable organization Raising Malawi in helping with improving their lives and conditions.

Madonna plans to start building a multi-million-dollar girls’ school in Malawi for underprivileged children this year, her local lawyer said on Wednesday.

“A task force of four prominent Malawians has already been formed to head the project which will be on the scale of what Oprah Winfrey has in South Africa,” Madonna’s lawyer Alan Chinula told Reuters.

Malawi’s High Court is expected to approve Madonna’s bid to adopt two-year-old Malawian David Banda on Thursday.

Madonna will not attend the final court ruling on her adoption bid because she is busy with other engagements, Chinula said on Tuesday.
