Kirsten Dunst Finds Key To Success Wed, 07 March 2007
The girl that everybody loves to hate, Kirsten Dunst, is the cover girl for the April 2007 issue of W Magazine as photographed by Craig McDean. The 24-year-old moppet-haired former child star opens up about finally finding the key to success:
- On her self-proclaimed best performance in the 1994 film Interview with a Vampire that costarred Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt and earned her a Golden Globe nomination: “I’ve never been so good! After 11, it all went downhill.”
- On her disappointment of Marie Antoinette’s failure to connect with a wider audience: “I’m really disappointed in taste right now. I hope I don’t sound weird,” she explains. “I’m not bitter. I’m just a little, Well, that sucks because I really liked the movie. Whatevs. It’ll live on.”
- On her personal life: “I don’t want to get into any of that because I don’t want to ruin my life. I’m done talking about anybody until I’m married. I’m a person who likes to hang out. I would never go on a blind date. That sounds like the most uncomfortable thing on the planet earth. It’s like, ‘Hi. Nice to meet you. So, what kind of music do you like?’ Date ended.”
- On who Kirsten wants to end up with: “I need to eat a piece of pizza on a stoop in New York, and I cannot be with anybody fancy.”
- On being a cheap-o: “Even though I was making tons of money and doing movies. I would still be excited to go with $20 to Contempo Casuals.”
- On coming to terms with being a celebrity: “I’m okay with it. I love what I do, and I know that I’ve been given this gift. But there was a time when I wasn’t, of course. And if I didn’t struggle with it, I probably wouldn’t be a good actress at all. I used to feel like I had to be the best at what I did, but I realized I don’t have to be the best. It’s so freeing. I’ve never been this happy.”
Admittedly, this photo shoot is not so bad. Kirsten’s snaggleteeth are no where to be seen! Read Kirsten Dunst’s full W Magazine interview here.
Kate Bosworth: Thin Is In! Tue, 06 March 2007
Kate Bosworth stomps onto the rail thin scene as the cover girl for the April 2007 issue of V Magazine as photographed by Mario Sorrenti. This issue hits newsstands this Thursday, March 8.
Kate, 24, has a film coming out later this year called The Girl in the Park co-starring Keri Russell and Sigourney Weaver and directed by David Auburn. Here’s a brief synopsis:
Enduringly traumatized by the disappearance of her 3-year-old daughter 15 years ago, Julia Sandburg (Weaver) has cut herself off from anyone once near and dear to her, including her husband Doug and her son Chris, who tried for years to penetrate her wall of isolation and despair, without success. But when Julia meets Louise (Bosworth), a troubled young woman with a checkered past, all Julia’s old psychic wounds painfully resurface, as does her illogical and increasingly irrational hope that Louise may be the daughter she lost so long ago.
THE BIGGEST V EVER, FOLKS…
Eric Bana is an Elle Man Tue, 06 March 2007
Hunk du Jour Eric Bana is featured as in the April 2007 issue of Elle Magazine as this month’s “Elle Man.” The heartthrob from down under speaks out:
- On his trademark gaze: “I have a problem where when I think I’m looking friendly, I look like I want to kill someone.”
- On his acting technique: “If my character has to feel something, I pretty much want to feel it. I want to feel like I’m killing someone. I want to feel the guilt someone feels after he’s stabbed someone or shot someone. I want to feel the fear of pointing a gun at someone. Because it’s just bloody interesting. Otherwise it just feels fake.”
- On being an introvert: “I’d rather talk about anyone at a party but me, unless I’m with close friends and I’ve had a drink. You get sick of yourself. Anyone can jump onstage and do something; I want to watch.”
- On ‘Banatics,’ his female fans: “I don’t know what ages they are; it’s probably better if I didn’t.”
- On taking risks: “Risk-taking to me is not risk-taking. What scares me most is sitting around not doing anything, not taking chances.”
His romantic comedy Lucky You co-starring Drew Barrymore opens nationwide May 4. Read the full Eric Bana article from Elle Magazine April 2007 below!
Rachel McAdams for Elle Magazine Sun, 04 March 2007
Pink-streaked Rachel McAdams is the cover girl for the April 2007 issue of Elle Magazine and gives quite the fascinating interview. For starters, apparently Rachel is 28 according to her mom and not 30 as IMDB reports. And she’s turned down some huge movie roles.
I extrapolated the most interesting paragraph for thine reading pleasure:
“I’m not going to make movies just to make movies,” McAdams says. (She’s turned down loads of roles, including the romantic leads in Mission Impossible 2 and Casino Royale. Anne Hathaway’s part in the Devil Wears Prada, and Agent 99 in the upcoming Get Smart, starring Steve Carell.) “I have to be passionate about it. And at the same time, I can get very distracted when I’m working, and I like to get back to my life a lot — a love-wise life with Ryan Gosling that she fictionalized in The Notebook in 2004 and factualized with him quite a while after the movie. Two years-ish to be exact. She’s a serious sort, not one to have her head spun on a set all flibbertigibbety, hand-feeling the tabloids. They’re a well-matched pair of hearts. She admires him. Her cheeks bloom when she speaks of his Oscar nomination for Half Nelson. “He did such an amazing job,” McAdams says, her voice positively aching. “He worked so hard, too! He never does the same thing twice. He’s very brave. I don’t think he sees the point [in taking a role] unless he can find out what he’s made of every time. He just doesn’t back off. He goes into everything from that place.”
Yes, Rachel is wearing the same Armani Prive dress as Beyonce from The Oscars. AND Rachel is wearing the same Chanel dress as Kirsten Dunst from the Oscars. Rachel looks so much better in it than Kirsten!
Sophia Bush: Ocean Drive Magazine Sun, 04 March 2007
Sophia Bush is featured in the March 2007 issue of Ocean Drive Magazine! Sophia, 24, opens up about working with co-star Sean Bean in her latest thriller/slasher The Hitcher, which opened in January. She also touches upon what she admires most in other people — things her ex-husband probably lacked.
How was working with Sean Bean? Did he teach you any Sheffield slang? I love Sean Bean. I just love him. We kept our distance at the beginning, because I was supposed to be afraid of him, so I didn’t want to become too close too fast. So instead of doing the typical thing, where the actors all go to dinner to get to know each other, we just let the relationship develop very slowly, almost at a distance. But I was immediately impressed because he’s so well-mannered and intelligent. And he’s very thoughtful—I mean, everything he says is cultured and meaningful. So the first time I heard him say, ‘F***,’ I laughed so much I thought I’d die from lack of oxygen.
You’d be okay, then. Finally, a couple of character questions: First, which quality do you value most in other people? Loyalty and honesty mean the most to me. When that’s a priority for you, the things that come out of your mouth are genuine and meaningful, and the way you treat people and think about them is genuine. I’m not a calculating person and I’m not really used to being around those kinds of people, and I’ve been bitten because of it. So I really enjoy being around honest, loyal people.
Sounds like that last question was aimed at ex-hubby Chad Michael Murray! Ahem. You can read the full Sophia Bush Ocean Drive interview here.

Lavigne in Arena Magazine Fri, 02 March 2007
Goodbye skateboard, hello stilettos!
From Canadian skate parks to French fashion shows, teen-punk brat Avril Lavigne is the April 2007 cover girl for Britain’s Arena magazine.
- On her party girl lifestyle: “I like to have a good time, jump on tables and wreck things once in a while. When I drink, I am the party.”
- On her changed ways: “I was such a tomboy, running around, getting in fights, hanging out with guys. I look back and laugh as I realize how much I’ve grown up. God I was such a ****.”
- On her future acting career: “I’ve been reading scripts for two years and they’ve all been crap. I can’t just decide, ‘Hey, I want to act,’ and then be in a wicked movie.”
- On the biggest diamond engagement ring she wears: “I want a bigger one! I love it, it’s perfect. I used to wear fake ones like this when I was younger and I never dreamt that one day, I’d actually have one that size.”
- On her new album, The Best Damn Thing: “I went into this record knowing exactly what I wanted it to be. I wanted ti be uptempt, fast and fun. The “Girlfriend” video is amazing as I get to dance. I know, me — dancing! I have my boy-bashing songs but I’m not serious about it. I had the most fun in the studio making this record — we were getting drunk, scootering around, ordering junk food and I think that comes across on the record.”
