New MI3 Pictures

Chinese media have speculated that flashes of underwear and other "inappropriate" images in the China scenes of Mission Impossible 3 (MI3) might jeopardise the mainland release of Tom Cruise’s latest Hollywood blockbuster. Despite hitting American screens over a week ago, China’s State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT), is yet to approve MI3’s mainland distribution, the Beijing News newspaper said on Monday. Underwear hanging out to dry and other images "harmful to China" might be responsible, local papers have suggested. "In the Shanghai scenes, all the roofs and alleys have raggedy clothes hanging from bamboo sticks everywhere," said the Beijing Times.

Oh no!!!!!!!!!  Underwear hanging from bamboo sticks everywhere!!!!!!  Everbody run for your lives!!!!!!!!!!   Mission Impossible 3 stayed atop the box office this weekend with an estimated $24.5 million in weekend ticket sales. Poseidon managed a disappointing $20.3 million. Enjoy this new set of Mission Impossible 3 stills. Above are MI3 co-stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Maggie Q. More pictures in the gallery including Keri Russell, Laurence Fishburne and Ving Rhames.

Katie's Holmes' First Appearance Back

Los Angeles, CA :: Tom Cruise, 43, allowed fiancée Katie Holmes, 27, out of the house to attend the Mission Impossible 3 premiere in Hollywood last night. The couple had the crowd going crazy at the star-studded event held at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. This marks Katie’s first public appearance since giving birth to the couple’s daughter Suri (born April 18). No picture has been published of baby Suri Cruise yet, but there are rumors that Tom may sell photos for up to $1 million to OK! Magazine — and donate the money to charity.  Is anyone feelin’ Katie’s outfit?  You gotta admit she stills looks good though.  As does Tom.  Many more pictures in the gallery!

Maggie Q Interview Magazine

Action vixen Maggie Q brings new meaning to the term "bicoastal." The 27-year-old star of Asian cinema divides her time between Los Angeles and Hong Kong, a geographical split reflected in her career. "For me," she says, "getting on a plane is like getting into a cab." In the Far East, the actress has appeared in numerous popular films, on the covers of Time and Cosmopolitan, and in ads for Coca-Cola and Shiseido.

In Hollywood, meanwhile, her star is still rising: Bit parts in Rush Hour 2 (2001) and Around the World in 80 Days (2004) were a run-up to her role in this month’s Mission: Impossible III. Q plays Zhen, one of the principal members of the special assignment team that includes Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, and Laurence Fishburne. "I was trained by a technical-weapons expert," she says. "It was very weird. My instructor would joke, ‘You know, Maggie, when I kill people . . .’ And I’d be like, ‘What? What the hell did you just say?’"

Born Maggie Quigley in Honolulu to a Vietnamese mother and American father, the actress grew up with four older siblings. She envisioned herself a lawyer, a journalist, or maybe a veterinarian. But after a trip to Tokyo that led to a series of modeling gigs, she decided to start acting. She starred in House of the Dragon, a Chinese television series, and she’s acted steadily ever since. "You do a movie in Hong Kong and the process is the same as it is on M:I3, except that the movie’s not backed by $160 million," she says. "But the things that you learn and the things that you experience are similar."
