The Los Angeles Revlon Run/Walk draws thousands on Saturday including Jessica Alba, new mom Sheryl Crow and Mandy Moore.

Mandy couldn’t walk because of her fractured ankle but came to show her support anyway! She also performed at Run/Walk during the opening ceremony in New York.

The event was organized to raise funds for women’s cancer research and kicked off at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Revlon Run/Walks in Los Angeles and New York have raised nearly $45 million over the last 13 years.

Self-proclaimed “mediocre” singer-actress Mandy Moore is C Magazine’s May 2007 cover girl. The photo shoot was taken March 5th at designer Tony Duquette’s “Dawnridge” estate in Los Angeles. (It’s the same place that Reese Witherspoon was photographed for Harper’s Bazaar.)

• On her music career and new album Wild Hope: “Not to sound cheesy, but it was a period of intense self-reflection. I was asking myself all these questions: ‘Who am I? Am I doing what I love? Do I want to be doing this as a career? … While I was making the album, I was on the roller coaster that is love and going through breakups… so it was cathartic, too. … I’m not being self-deprecating. I can listen to good pop, but I would not include myself in that category. It’s embarrassing. I wish I could make those records disappear.”
• On partying: “I’m an early bird. It’s a problem. My friends are always, like, Really? You can’t go out again?”.
• On her figure: “I’m not willing to deprive myself. I am who I am. I know I don’t fit into the trendy look right now, but I’m much happier representing this body type. I have to make other sacrifices, like not seeing my friends, for my career, so if I want French fries, I’ll have them.”
• On her admission of having been depressed: “I’m used to being a very positive person, and all this stuff I was writing about for the album made me feel like I was wearing these blue tinted glasses. It’s not like I was every diagnosed, and I’ve never seen a therapist, although I’d love to, because I don’t want to keep burdening my friends.”
• On living in LA with her two brothers: “I’m a scaredy-cat when it comes to spiders and bugs.”
• On why she hasn’t changed her name to reflect her adult work and outlook: “Amanda’s a chainsmoking cabaret singer in her late 60s singing in the Catskills. Maybe when I’m that old, I’ll become Amanda.”

• On ex-boyfriend Zach Braff: “Out of respect to Zach, who I still consider a friend and care about and support, I have nothing bad to say about him. It just didn’t work out.” (Mandy’s friend described him as toxic: “He’s a really bad combination of narcissistic and insecure.”)
• Upon seeing of photo of herself being dissected on a blog: “People are so mean. (mimics) She’s fat. She’s untalented. I wish she’d shut up. I don’t want to hear another record from her.”
• On her acting and singing abilities: “I’m mediocre at both. I’m not trying to be self-deprecating. I’m just being honest.”
• On her body issues: “Sometimes I feel fine. Sometimes I don’t feel so great. I’m a regular person. I’m not that thin. I’m okay with representing a different type than the Hollywood beauty ideal. But other people aren’t so okay with that. I’ve been told that I have to lose weight for stuff before. It’s mortifying. It’s hard to have someone come up and go, ‘You should lose a few pounds.’ And they don’t say it delicately. How can you? It’s only happened to me once before (for her upcoming film License to Wed). But once is enough to make you feel awful.”
