Matt was recently asked where he keeps the Oscar he won for Good Will Hunting. He answered, “It ended up at my apartment in New York, but then my apartment was flooded. A sprinkler broke while we were out of town. It was really weird. It was about two weeks after my daughter was born and I’m sure it was like one of those deals you make with God. We had a pretty hard labour and I’m sure at one point in that labour I said: You can take everything in the world away from me, but please don’t take my wife or my daughter.’ And two weeks later I got a phone call and they said: ‘Oh my God, I’m in your apartment! Everything you have in the world is gone!’ And I was holding my daughter and I said: ‘Okay, don’t worry about it. We’ll fix it.’ And I’m sure on some level there was some kind of cosmic deal I made for it. So all the stuff is in storage so I don’t know.” Poor guy!

Earlier this week the the UK premiere of Bourne, Damon said, “I’ve got more grey hairs than Brad Pitt. And what’s wrong with that? We’re not as young as we used to be. Fatherhood has changed us. No more late nights and hanging around Ronnie Scott’s listening to jazz like we used to.”

He also addressed being Hollywood’s best investment, sending a copy of the article to pal George Clooney.

“The email that went out to George said, ‘Suck it, sexy boy,’ and I attached the article,” Damon joked. “He replied saying, ‘That’s great, I had that read to me by one of the servants at my villa’.”

“Bond is an imperialist and a misogynist who kills people and laughs about it, and drinks Martinis and cracks jokes,” he told reporters. “Bourne is a serial monogamist whose girlfriend is dead and he does nothing but think about her.”

Added Damon, “The Bourne franchise is not about wearing Prada suits and looking at women coming out of the sea with bikinis on. It’s about essence and truth, not frippery and surface.”

FYI: The Bourne Ultimatum earned $32.9 million in its second weekend, for a total of $131.6 million. It has already earned more than the total US take for the first film of the trilogy, The Bourne Identity.

Matt Damon and The Bourne Ultimatum have been embraced by moviegoers, earning $69.3 million in its opening weekend. According to Forbes.com, he is Hollywood’s best investment; for every dollar he was paid for his last three roles, Damon brought in $29 of gross income, the site calculated.

Matt Damon is Entertainment Weekly’s cover boy this week.

Was it that vague when you signed on to do [Bourne Ultimatum]? I did the whole movie that way. In any given scene I didn’t know where I’d just come from or where I was going. Which, as an actor, you kind of need! And Paul’s only direction was ”Butch-er and more intense!” Finally I was like, ”If you give me the f—ing ‘butch-er and more intense’ note one more time, I’m gonna kick your ass!” It’s incredible that we’ve been able to pull the rabbit out of the hat three times.

Have you seen Ben Affleck’s new movie yet [Gone, Baby, Gone, which Affleck directed]? Yeah, it’s great! Unequivocally great.

Was it strange for you guys to be in Hawaii together this summer with your wives and kids? Was there ever a moment where you just laughed and said, Jesus, look at us? Yeah, seeing the kids playing together, that was a trip.

What do you miss most about bachelorhood? It’s got to be the whores [laughs]. No, I mean my bachelorhood was kind of squandered making movies.

And in box office news… The Bourne Ultimatum pulled in a cool $70.2 million this weekend. Identity opened with $27.1 million and Supremacy opened at $52.5 million. Will the fourth Bourne film open even higher??

Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Matt Damon was bumped from his very own Bourne Ultimatum movie trailer by Kimmel’s sidekick Guillermo.

During the past few years, Kimmel has closed nearly every show with an apology to Matt Damon for bumping him due to time constraints. Then last week, Kimmel placed an ad in Daily Variety congratulating Damon’s recent star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but let everyone know that the ad cost him $8,512.

Matt Damon struts his beefy body into the Ed Sullivan Theater for The Late Show With David Letterman on Wednesday in New York City. The Bourne Ultimatum actor wore his support for hometown team, The Boston Red Sox.

On Letterman, Matt shared a funny story about George Clooney calling him the night before the Ocean’s 13 cast got their hand and footprints taken at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. George recommended he get “big shoes” because “the concrete shrinks.”

“JOHN WAYNE HAD GIRL FEET?!?!?”

Matt is a size 11 shoe and wound up wearing a size 12. Because of shrinkage, George wound up wearing a size 14!!!!

It’s like the age-old Seinfeld episode with the pool shrinkage. But now all celebrities getting their footprints done should be warned about concrete shrinkage!
