Matthew McConaughey’s father died while having sex his mom, Kay McConaughey, she reveals in her new book, “I Amaze Myself!”

“On Monday mornings, he and I often said goodbye by making love,” Kay tells Us Weekly. “But one day, all of a sudden, it just happened.

“I knew that something was wrong, because I didn’t hear anything from him. Just nothing,” she says. “But it was just the best way to go!”

“I was just so proud to show off my big old Jim McConaughey — and his gift,” she says.

Kay serves as an active member of The Children’s Advocacy Center and Family Outreach as well as being actively involved with a local shelter for abused and battered women. A percentage of the sale of each book will go to some of Kay’s favorite charities.

Matthew McConaughey just posted an entry to his MySpace Celebrity page, praising his latest film, Tropic Thunder. In the film, the 38-year-old new dad plays Tugg Speedman’s (Ben Stiller) moronic agent Rick Peck (”Pecker”). Here’s what McConaughey had to say:

“Hey all, I went to [the] Tropic Thunder premiere last Tuesday night. All of the cast was there–really funny movie–there are surprises all over this film. And just when you think you know where the movie’s goin’, another surprise entrance by some character or plot twist surprises you. What a cast of characters! You will see actors you like doing things you’ve never seen them do before. Stiller did a top job directing too. The movie knows what it is and keeps delivering. There’s a lot of protests surrounding the pic, but if you see it, I think you’ll agree that all the “touchy” humor is in context, and in no way mean spirited or irresponsible. It’s just funny. I hope you enjoy the film. I had a blast steppin’ in to work on this project for just a few days. It’s another “brand” of comedy and a comedy team (Stiller and gang) that I wanted to play with, and am happy I did. Never lose your sense of humor, and just keep livin, McConaughey.”

Model and designer Camila Alves unveils her ultra lux handbag line MUXO, meaning “Goddess of the Water” in African, at LA’s trendy Kitson Studio on Thursday.

Hand crafting each bag themselves using the finest Brazilian leathers and hardware, Camila works with her mom to create the designs. MUXO is associated with Stand Up To Cancer and will soon be releasing a SU2C handbag.

Last month, Camila and Matthew McConaughey had their first child together, and named him Levi.

“[Levi] was gonna stay home but then he said, ‘Dad, mom, I wanna go support mom’s purses,’” Matthew joked with ET. “At 30 days old he’s talking about stuff like that!”

Matthew McConaughey and his longtime love Camila Alves, welcoming their first son Levi Alves McConaughey on July 7th, opens up to OK! Magazine about being parents.

On the delivery of the baby: “We found a great rhythm. Contractions started kicking in. I sat there with her, right between her legs. We got tribal on it, we danced to it! I was DJ-ing this Brazilian music.”

On the entire hospital experience as a proud father: “I have it all chronicled,” he explained. “Becoming a dad is something I’ve dreamed of doing since I was 10. Becoming a father felt very, very natural. We were jamming! She was sweating. No painkiller, let’s go. She just clicked into that gear that only a woman has at a time like this. We’d been up for 40-something hours, and we went from dead tired to a really steadfast, ‘Let’s handle this… let’s stay in the rhythm. Don’t let the contraction be more than you.’”

On finding out the sex of the baby during the pregnancy: “I said, ‘Come here, little man. I saw the pecker and screamed that we’d been right all along about him being a boy. Then I brought him over to [Camila].’

Matthew McConaughey and longtime girlfriend Camila Alves named their son Levi Alves McConaughey, reports OK!

Matthew also took the time to explain how they came up with the name for their baby boy: “Levi was another name for the apostle Matthew in The Bible. They were, in fact, two names for the same person… Our son was born at 6:22 pm, and this particular time represents my favorite verse in the book of Matthew in The Bible: ‘If thy eye be single, thy whole body will be full of light.’”

As for the name Alves (Camila’s last name), McConaughey explained, “We wanted to incorporate her family name.”

Matthew McConaughey’s Brazilian girlfriend, Camila Alves, gave birth to a boy at 6:22pm PT on Monday, July 7.

The first child for McConaughey and Alves was born on Monday evening, the actor’s publicist said. The couple announced the pregnancy in January.

The 38-year-old actor has been dating Alves for two years. Their baby arrived weighing 7lb 4oz, but a name is yet to be confirmed.

“A healthy baby boy was born,” Matthew told OK!. “Camila and I were side by side the entire time. We are both tired and elated, and are so happy to have created the greatest miracle in the world — Having a child and making a family. Now comes the greatest adventure — raising one, together.”
