Glee star Matthew Morrison suits up in a tuxedo by Burberry and shoes by Aldo at the 32nd Kennedy Center Honors event in Washington, D.C. on Sunday (December 6).

The 31-year-old actor took part in a salute to legend Mel Brooks, who co-created the film and musical Young Frankenstein as well as other classic films and plays.

“I like crossing the line every now and then, and [Mel] is kind of the master of crossing that line, being a little offensive at times,” Matt said. “The man is a living legend.”

During the event, Matt also sang “Springtime for Hitler,” a song from the classic musical The Producers!

Others honored at the evening’s celebration include Bruce Springsteen, Robert De Niro, musician Dave Brubeck and opera singer Grace Bumbry.

Glee’s Matthew Morrison will be recording a solo album, Access Hollywood reports.

Matt, 31, said he’s nearly finalized a record deal and will be recording an album.

“I would consider it a classier Justin Timberlake album,” he said. “It’s going to be me and a big orchestra, but also with beats.”

The Glee star also shared that he wants to do a little bit of everything in the business. “I want to be like the next Gene Kelly,” Matt said. “I want to kind of do it all.” He’s already gotten a Tony nomination for his work on The Light in the Piazza and appeared on Broadway’s Hairspray and South Pacific.

As for the forthcoming Glee tour, though, don’t expect to see Matthew joining the glee club kids on their trip around the country.

“I don’t think I’m going to be involved in that,” Matthew said. “Mr. Schuester likes to take his summer break.”

The first soundtrack for the hit TV show Glee is hitting stores next week.

Glee: The Music, Volume 1 will be available this Tuesday (November 3) and the cast will be making appearances at in-stores in New York City and Los Angeles during release week.

Glee stars Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith take the latest October 30th cover of Entertainment Weekly, on stands Friday. What a fun cover, congrats to the cast!

Tony nominee Jonathan Groff – Lea’s costar from Broadway’s Spring Awakening – was recently cast as the lead singer of Vocal Adrenaline, the reigning glee-club champs who performed “Rehab” in the pilot.

“He is a male diva – a miva,” says creator Ryan Murphy of the character, who will try to woo Rachel.

The cast is already feeling the effects of Glee mania. “I was at Disneyland yesterday – big mistake,” says Chris Colfer, who plays gay fashionista Kurt. “I might as well have walked around with a target on my shirt, because those are our fans. I stopped and took pictures probably 40 times in between rides. This one lady got a picture of me on the Tower of Terror and had me sign it.”

The cast of the new FOX series Glee — Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch and Lea Michele (inset) — hit the red carpet at the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Film Festival held at the Director’s Guild of America on Saturday (July 18).

Glee makes its official premiere Sept. 9 @ 9PM ET/PT on FOX. The ep “Showmance” mainly focuses on the relationship between Rachel (Michele) and Finn (Montieth) and features these fun songs: “Gold Digger (Kanye West), “Push It” (Salt N Pepa), “Take a Bow” (Rihanna), “I Say A Little Prayer” (Burt Bacharach), “Le Freak” (Chic), and “All By Myself” (Eric Carmen).
