The Office star Melora Hardin, aka Jan Levinson, will be making her Broadway debut as nightclub dancer Roxie Hart in December, sources confirm to JustJared.com.

”I’m thrilled. I’m so excited,” the 41-year-old actress said in a telephone interview with AP. ”I have been dancing all my life, since I was 5. … In a way, I was made for musicals. But I have been working so much in film and television that I never really had a chance to do them.”

Melora will play a seven-week limited engagement (Monday, December 29, 2008 to Thursday, February 12, 2009) at Broadway’’s Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.). For tickets, visit ChicagoTheMusical.com.

Other stars to play Roxie include Brooke Shields, Lisa Rinner, Ashlee Simpson and Melanie Griffith.

Melora will next star in the film 17 Again, opposite Zac Efron. She also plays the love-interest to Billy Ray Cyrus in Miley Cyrus’s upcoming Hannah Montana: The Movie. Both films hit theaters April 2009.

Fischer uses the word ”courtship” in reference to the next phase of their relationship — ”There’s something about Jim and Pam that is true love personified in a TV show,” she says sweetly — while bemoaning how painful it is to stare up at the much taller Krasinski after breaking bones in her back in a fall during the off-season. Daniels, of course, is vague, making reference only to ”a soap opera-y thing that I’m gonna let be a surprise.” We nod, smile, and think to ourselves: What is this, Lost?

2007 Emmy nominations for The Office actors include Best Comedy Series, Best Lead Actor in a Comedy for Steve Carell, Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy for Rainn Wilson and Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy for Jenna Fischer.

The show also received nominations for Best Writing for a Comedy Series for Greg Daniels (“Gay Witch Hunt”) and Michael Schur (“The Negotiation”) as well as Best Directing for a Comedy Series for Ken Kwapis (“Gay Witch Hunt”).

The cast of The Office made a grand appearance at the NBC Upfronts on Monday at NYC’s Radio City Music Hall. The Office was stretched to a 30-episode order including five hour-long episodes. WOOT!

The Office cast will appear tomorrow morning on NBC’s The Today Show. Jenna Fischer will be on tomorrow’s episode of NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
