Mia Wasikowska is the belle of the ball in Valentino Couture on the green carpet at the Royal World Premiere of her new movie, Alice in Wonderland, at London’s Odeon Leicester Square on Thursday (February 25).

The 20-year-old ingenue talked about her co-star Johnny Depp. She shared, “He is such a cool guy. He has the humanity to keep this sense of self. He’s very kind and generous and so smart. To be able to watch Johnny — just like with [director Tim Burton] — as he takes something from the page to reality and how hard he works and what he brought to it and how much he brought to it, it was amazing. It is inspiring too that he does things in a purely joyous way and has fun with it all, because so often there are people who seem disgruntled. To keep that love of what you do is so important. And watching him and Tim work together is fun. They have a very deep rapport. Watching them, it’s like they speak their very own language.”

Mia Wasikowska keeps in classy in Stella McCartney at the Alice in Wonderland Ultimate Fan Event at Hollywood & Highland on Friday (February 19) in Los Angeles.

Walt Disney Pictures and Buena Vista Records also brought out director Tim Burton and the rest of the movie’s stars — actors Johnny Depp, Crispin Glover, Michael Sheen, Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway.

FYI: Depp wore Ralph Lauren’s Double RL Contrast Stitch Deadstock Workpant and Hathaway wore Azzaro’s “Hans K&D” Trench.

Mia Wasikowska rocks a cute cropped ‘do and a dress by Burberry on the March 2010 cover of Teen Vogue.

The 20-year-old Aussie actress, who stars in the upcoming Tim Burton adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, spoke to Teen Vogue about becoming Alice, fame and growing up.

On her interpretation of Alice: “One of the things that was scary about taking on that role is the huge fan base; everybody has their own idea of who she is. So [Tim Burton and I] discussed, very early on, just being happy with her being our Alice…making her my own.”

On earning her roles: “I like getting jobs because I auditioned for them, because of my ability as opposed to my celebrity.”

On growing older: “As a teenager I was very anxious. I had a lot of energy and passion that I wanted to channel into creative things, and I always felt like I wasn’t achieving enough.”

Check out the new trailer for Alice in Wonderland, a 3-D fantasy adventure starring Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter and Mia Wasikowska as 19-year-old Alice, who returns to the whimsical world she first encountered as a young girl, reuniting with her childhood friends: the White Rabbit, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, the Dormouse, the Caterpillar, and the Cheshire Cat. Alice embarks on a fantastical journey to find her true destiny and end the reign of terror controlled by the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter). Anne Hathaway also stars as The White Queen.

The Tim Burton-directed flick, Alice in Wonderland, hits the big screens on March 5, 2010!

Australian actress Mia Wasikowska is slated to star in the new adaption of Lewis Carroll’s classic fantasy novel Alice in Wonderland.

In the director’s chair is Tim Burton (Bettle Juice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd). According to THR, Alice and Wonderland will be shot with live-action and performance-capture footage and presented in Disney Digital 3-D.

Filming begins this November.

Wasikowska, 18, will next appear opposite Daniel Craig in the war drama Defiance and just completed filming the role of a young Amelia Earhart fan in Mira Nair’s biopic Amelia, starring Hilary Swank.
