Stars Collide at LAX

On Thursday, it’s a collision of stars at Los Angeles International Airport.

Super smiley Kelly Clarkson looks relaxed and cheerful as she prepares for departure while a tired-looking John Mayer offers a tight-lipped almost smile as he makes his way to the parking lot.

Meanwhile, the cast of Superbad, including Michael Cera, Jonah Hill, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (McLovin), runs amok in the airport, playing paparazzi. (Could Cera’s old school white camera and rolls of film be related to his recent trip to Samy’s Camera?) But, it looks like even they can’t make security checks fun.

Michael Cera Walks to His Car Too

Superfunny 19-year-old Michael Cera, star of the summer’s Superbad, gets snapped in a parking lot while returning to his car after making a purchase at Samy’s Camera on Wednesday.

Cera is working the asphalt in a pair of classic two-tone blue Vans sneakers, nondescript green tee, and plastic shopping bag from Samy’s. (Looks like he didn’t take advantage of that valet parking advertised on the sign behind him).

Michael Cera @ “Superbad” Premiere

Superbad is scoring super good reviews across the board — it’s garnered a whopping 93% fresh rating on RottenTomatoes! You can bet it has to do with Michael Cera, one of the greatest human beings of all time! Here are some snippets of the movie reviews:

Variety: “The bawdy jokes score big points, but it’s the rueful acknowledgment of adolescent embarrassment and humiliation that most distinguishes Superbad.”

The New Yorker: “The movie succeeds as a teen’s wild fantasy of a night in which everything goes wrong, revised by an adult’s melancholy sense that nothing was ever meant to go right.”

Ebert and Roeper: “It’s very honest and frank, and… smart about kids of a certain age.”

Superbad opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, August 17.
