Paris Jackson, the 11-year-old daughter of the King of Pop, gives a tearful goodbye at the Michael Jackson public memorial service held at Staples Center on Tuesday (July 7) in Los Angeles.
She shared, “I just wanted to say, ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine. And I just wanted to say, I love him so much.”
Standing beside Paris were her two brothers, Michael Jackson, Jr. and Prince Michael Jackson II.

Mariah Carey kicks off the celebrity performance tributes at the Michael Jackson public memorial service held at Staples Center on Tuesday (July 7) in Los Angeles.
The 39-year-old songtress hit the stage with her rendition of Jackson 5’s hit “I’ll Be There.” She was joined onstage by Trey Lorenz, who recorded a 1992 duet of the song, which became Mariah’s first worldwide number one.

John Mayer performs “Human Nature” at the Michael Jackson public memorial service held at Staples Center on Tuesday (July 7) in Los Angeles.
“I’m honored to have been asked to play at MJ’s memorial service,” the 31-year-old performer said. “I will be representing all of us who can’t be there. Going to say goodbye from all us kids. I also want you to know that I’m going not to ‘perform’ but to contribute… Proud to be a musician.”

Jennifer Hudson - Michael Jackson Tribute Video
Grammy and Oscar-winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson gives a wonderful performance of “Will You Be There (Hold Me)” at the Michael Jackson public memorial service held at Staples Center on Tuesday (July 7) in Los Angeles.
The song was released as one of Michael’s single in 1993. It also appeared on the soundtrack to Free Willy.
Michael, 50, died at UCLA Medical Center after going into cardiac arrest at his rented home on June 25 in Los Angeles.

The Jackson family today announced the participants for the Michael Jackson memorial for Tuesday (July 7) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The family’s rep revealed the list to JustJared.com: Ron Boyd (family friend); Kobe Bryant; Mariah Carey; Andrae Crouch Choir; Berry Gordy; Jennifer Hudson; Shaheen Jafargholi (finalist on Britain’s Got Talent); Magic Johnson; Martin Luther King III; Bernice A. Madonna Performs Michael Jackson Tribute
Madonna pays tribute to Michael Jackson during her “Sticky and Sweet” concert tour held at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday (July 4).
It’s the same venue where Michael was to stage his comeback. During the concert, an impersonator doing Michael’s moonwalk hit the stage.
Madonna told the crowd, “Let’s give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known.” And the crowd went wild!

Jackson Family: Public Memorial Service Confirmed
The Jackson family said in a statement Friday morning that a public memorial service for Michael Jackson will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. About 11,000 free-of-charge tickets will be available via internet but officials are expecting to draw over 100,000 fans at the service.
Before suffering cardiac arrest on June 25, the King of Pop was seen rehearsing at the Staples Center two days before he died.
Plans for the legendary entertainer’s funeral are still underway, but will most likely be a private event after Tuesday’s ceremony.
Fans wishing to attend must register at staplescenter.com where names will be later chosen at random. Another 6,500 tickets will be available at a nearby theater.
