America’s newest sweetheart, Nastia Liukin, is featured on the latest special-edition Wheaties box. The 18-year-old Olympics champ follows in the footsteps of fellow all-around gymnast champions Mary Lou Retton and Carly Patterson by joining the Breakfast of Champions family.

“Every young athlete aspires to one day see their face on the cover of the Wheaties box,” Nastia said. “It’s been a huge inspiration to see great gymnastics champions on the box, like Mary Lou and Carly, plus the ‘Magnificent Seven’ from 1996. It’s a privilege and an honor for me to be on the box, and I’m very excited to be part of the Wheaties tradition.”

Nastia credits hard work and determination for her success. “I tell young athletes all the time that if you want to become a champion, you need to stay focused, train hard, and pay attention to what you eat,” she says.

Olympics champion Nastia Liukin, aka the all-around gymnastics gold medalist, arrives for her taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday in Chicago, Ill. Oprah booked Millennium Park, a 4,000 seat outdoor stadium in downtown Chicago, for her first show of the new season, during which she’ll honor 150 Olympic athletes.

Other athletes honored at the show: eight-time gold medalist swimmer Michael Phelps, gymnast Shawn Johnson, swimmer Dara Torres, Kobe Bryant and the men’s basketball team, and the women’s and men’s volleyball teams. American Idol winner David Cook also gives a surprise performance at the show.

According to WWD, here’s what else Nastia, 18, has lined up:

– Cover Girl ads
– Gossip Girl cameo
– Nastia’s image will be featured on a Wheaties box
– The possibility of a line of activewear with GK
– Vanilla Star Jeans aims to launch Nastia Liukin Gold jeans and tops for holiday
– She has a stake in Beaconstreetgirls.com, a tween Web site that vends fashion and beauty items, home décor and books.

Nastia will also be traveling to New York for Fashion Week. “Maria Sharapova invited me,” Nastia said. “I’m going to Peter Som – front row – Isaac Mizrahi and Cole Haan.”

US women’s gymnastic gold medalist Nastia Liukin is spotted leaving Beso restaurant after having dinner with some friends on Monday night.

Nastia signed autographs for some fans while the photogs snapped away at the smiling gold medalist.

The 18-year-old gymnast finished with five medals in Beijing, including gold in the sport’s most coveted event (individual all-around). Liukin and Shawn Johnson combined for a total of nine medals at the Olympics this year.

Nastia will stop by the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday night.

USA gymnast Shawn Johnson came up big on the balance beam and won gold at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing on Tuesday. Her score of 16.225 bested teammate Nastia Liukin who scored 16.025. Cheng Fei of China came in third at 15.95.

The U.S. and China came away as the top two performing countries in women’s gymnastics at this year’s Olympics.

Also pictured below is Nastia Liukin winning her gold medal in the women’s all-around competition last week. Did you know she’s only 5′3″? Her legs make her seem way taller!

FYI: Shawn Johnson is technically a dwarf, coming in at 4′9″ (4′10″ or shorter is the standard).
