Natalie Portman is fresh-faced at the book launch of To India With Love: From New York To Mumbai in New York City on Wednesday (November 4).

The 28-year-old actress, who posed with author Waris Ahluwalia at the event, showed her support for the book, which is a scrapbook of personal stories and photos to support the victims of the Mumbai attacks of November 2008.

Earlier today, Entertainment Weekly released exclusive photos of Natalie and costars Jake Gyllenhaal and Tobey Maguire in Brothers.

The film, which opens December 4, is about a woman whose husband goes missing in Afghanistan and how she turns to her brother-in-law for support.

Natalie Portman shows her sexy androgynous side in the winter issue of V Magazine, on newsstands today.

The 28-year-old actress, who posed for Mario Testino in London for the shoot, wore Calvin Klein jeans and embellishments on the cover and opened up about sexuality, the internet and ambition:

On harsh criticism of her Star Wars work: “My acting was not exactly respected in those films [laughs] but those are the moments when you want to prove yourself again. When people think I suck, it helps.”

On how the internet affects her roles: “[O]nline bulls— interferes with what I want to do artistically. I’m not opposed to sexuality or nudity in a film, but I’m very opposed to pornography sites and you’re pretty much giving them material if you do any of that.”

On striving to be her best: “To be successful, you need the desire to be successful. Ambition can be a dirty word, but it’s pretty much more important than anything.”

Natalie Portman takes to the Huffington Post to write about how author Jonathan Safran Foer (Everything Is Illuminated) and his book Eating Animals changed her already strict vegetarian habits to go even more extreme.

Now, the 28-year-old actress writes, she’s a vegan activist: “[T]his book reminded me that some things are just wrong. Perhaps others disagree with me that animals have personalities, but the highly documented torture of animals is unacceptable, and the human cost Foer describes in his book, of which I was previously unaware, is universally compelling.”

Natalie, who has been voted the World’s Sexiest Vegetarian by PETA, refuses to wear leather or fur and is a huge animal rights advocate.

Natalie Portman hails a cab after eating with friends at DBGB Kitchen and Bar in New York City on Saturday (October 24).

Looks like before lunch the 28-year-old Israeli American actress also picked up a few things at Maryam Nassir Zadeh.

Natalie has been working hard lately. Since last spring, she worked on the indie film Hesher, a comedy called Your Highness, and a thriller titled Black Swan. Soon she’ll be headed to Santa Fe for Marvel’s Thor.

Afterwards, Nat’s looking forward to some relaxation.

“I will take a nap - for like, two months,” Natalie tells LA Times. “Right now, I’m working probably more than is good for me, but sometimes it’s good to exceed your boundaries and stretch yourself.”

Natalie Portman and her Black Swan co-star Mila Kunis rub shoulders at the 2009 American Ballet Theatre Fall Gala at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall on Wednesday (October 7) in New York City.

Natalie, 28, and Mila, 26, play rival ballerinas in the upcoming thriller Black Swan, out 2010. They reportedly will participate in a racy girl-on-girl love scene.

Mila hasn’t confirmed or denied the rumors, telling FOX News, “I’m not allowed to talk about the script yet, but I’m excited to work with Natalie. I’ve known her for some time.”

FYI: Nat is wearing a dress from the 2009/10 Chanel Cruise Collection.

Natalie Portman doesn’t stop on the red carpet and rushes into the the Broadway opening night of Hamlet at the Broadhurst Theatre on Tuesday (October 6) in New York City.

The 28-year-old actress, who wore a wore an ink blue Ferragamo double-breasted jacket with puff sleeves, came out to support Jude Law (her co-star in the 2004 drama romance Closer).

Also spotted in the audience: Barbara Walters, Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick, True Blood star Rutina Wesley, former Frasier star David Hyde Pierce, former Alias star Victor Garber, and director Sam Mendes (Kate Winslet’s husband).

Natalie Portman hits up the screening of her new movie Love And Other Possible Pursuits during the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival held at Roy Thomson Hall on Wednesday (September 16) in Canada.

The 28-year-old actress flowed in a floral Lanvin dress and Aldo “Sliney” pumps.

When asked if she’d still be making movies in ten year’s time, Nat shared, “I said I do not know because I feel month-to-month I change so much… it is hard to project.”
