The Glendale Police Department released Nicole Richie’s mug shot, after arresting her earlier this morning for drunk driving. California Highway Patrol officers took the 5′1″, 85 lbs., 25-year-old daughter of pop singer Lionel Richie into custody after failing a field sobriety test. TMZ has more details as usual.

• James Blunt may have asked girlfriend Petra Nemcova to marry him. Petra she was spotted on Fifth Avenue yesterday during a commercial shoot wearing a huge diamond on her ring finger.
• Christina Aguilera and Rascal Flatts will perform live from Times Square during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2007, airing on ABC. Dick Clark and Ryan Seacrest will co-host the event.
• Pamela Anderson is expected to host a New Year’s Eve party at Tao Las Vegas, just across the street from Kid Rock’s party at Jet. Britney Spears is taking over Pure nightclub while Nicole Richie is in talks to host a bash at Tangerine.
• Comedian Margaret Cho will guest star on Fox’s ’Til Death early next year.
• Rosie O’Donnell announced yesterday that she might star in FX drama Nip/Tuck instead of getting her own spin-off on the network. Rosie would replace Joely Richardson and her popular character would own the plastic surgery center.

There has been a lot of speculation as to the cause of my parting with client Nicole Richie. The tabloid reports have no merit. After trying to be a good friend to Nicole, we made a mutual decision to sever our working relationship. Changes are inevitable in any business relationship. I am very fortunate to have such a wonderful life, I have been married for 10 years and have been a stylist for more than 15 years and am lucky to work with such a diverse group of women of all shapes and sizes that inspire me everyday. I have nothing but love for Nicole and wish her only health and happiness.

• Insiders say Beyonce had to present Michael Jackson with his Diamond Award at the World Music Awards last week after 2005 winner Jon Bon Jovi refused. Bon Jovi, who was in London at the time to be inducted into the UK Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, did not want to be associated with Jackson.

• Dancing with the Stars runner-up Mario Lopez is upset that he did not win the celebrity dance competition, calling himself the better dancer. “I figure if this was truly a dance competition they would have voted for the better dancer,” Mario told The Post.
• Russell Simmons and Petra Nemcova are headed to Africa later this month to tour diamond mines. Russell plans to start the Diamond Empowerment Fund to teach Africans how to cut and polish diamonds themselves. While Russell and Petra have been rumored to be an item, Russell has insisted that they are just friends - and Petra told the December issue of Harper’s Bazaar that she’s “definitely, definitely in love with James Blunt.”
• ABC revealed they are thinking of bringing back Dancing with the Stars for a fourth season as early as March - and the show might compete directly with American Idol.
• Angry fans who paid as much as $189 to see Michael Jackson perform at the World Music Awards, want their money back. It was rumored that Jackson would perform “Thriller,” but the king of pop instead sang a few lines from “We Are the World.”
