New parents Nicole Richie and Joel Madden head to her manager/talent agent Benny Medina’s house to celebrate his 50th birthday in Los Angeles on Friday.

Looks like Nicole is already back in shape, showing off her post-pregnancy body in a black hip-hugging dress.

Grandfather Lionel Richie, 58, was also seen at the party with his girlfriend.

Earlier in the day, Joel, 28, and Nicole, 26, were spotted stocking up on nursing supplies at The Pump Station earlier in the day.

Joel Madden recently blogged about how fast his daughter is growing and how much bad there is out in the world today. The Good Charlotte frontman also sent his condolences to Heath Ledger’s friends and family. Check out his latest blog via DCMACollective:

“[Harlow] is already growing to fast! So I am at home writing this blog before i head to the DCMA store, and then the DEAD EXEC studio to work. I swear it’s so hard to leave during the day, but always so rewarding to come home to the little family. I’ve always been a guy who loves to love. Probably one of the things that define me outside of my work is LOVE. I had no idea what love even was until Harlow came along.

Me and her mother feel like the luckiest two people alive right now. This time in our life has been amazing. We both look at our little girl every single moment everyday and know there is nothing we wouldn’t do to protect her and her perfect little innocence. It seems like you turn on the TV, or get online and its all bad news.

We don’t want her to know any of that yet. I actually never want her to know any of the pain and suffering we see out in the world everyday, or how harsh people can be as a result of it. Having this baby has really made me realize we all start out that way, then somewhere along the way something happens and people go one way or the other. But all started out sweet and innocent just like my little daughter. The world could really make you bitter if you let it, but thats where music, and art come in to save the day.

You’ve got to surround yourself with the things you love. The whole point to DCMA and this site is a bunch of us friends doing what we love, surrounding ourselves with positivity. I want my kid to grow up around that.

My heart goes out to Heath Ledger’s family. Too young. too soon. too loved to be gone. It almost seems pointless to say this with the state of the media today, but I hope people will respect what his child and her mother are going thru right now and give them space. May God be with them.

So this one was especially long today on the writing side, I apologize it all just got me thinking.”

Proud papa Joel Madden just blogged a fun entry about new life as a father on his DCMA Collective Web site.

Here’s what he wrote under the title “IT’S A GIRL!!!!!” (yes, with that many exclamation points):

“Well, I am finally home with my beautiful girlfriend and our brand new little daughter. Harlow Winter Kate Madden was born on January 11th, 2008 at 3:13pm. She weighed in at 6 pounds and 7 ounces. She is 19 inches long and growing everyday already! She really is a wonderful addition to the GC/DCMA/DEADEXEC family. We are so blessed to have this beautiful little baby in our lives.”

Madden, 28, is quite grateful to all of his friends, family and fans: “I want to thank everyone for all the love and kind words they’ve sent our way. We apologize we weren’t accepting gifts/cards/calls at the hospital, but if you’d like to send something, we’d rather you make a donation to the richie-madden foundation, which we started in Harlow Winter’s honor.”

Joel even wrote how much Harlow looks like mom Nicole Richie: “She looks so much like her mom it’s crazy! She eats like a little maniac and she’s really sweet. She barely ever cries, even when daddy is changing her diaper, and believe me, I suck when it comes to diapers, but I’m learning! I can’t wait to show off some pictures, until then, THANKS!! and GOD BLESS….. Joel”

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are the proud parents of a daughter, Harlow Winter Kate Madden.

Harlow was born Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and weighed 6 lbs., 7 oz.

“The beautiful healthy baby girl is home with her ecstatic parents,” the couple’s reps at Handprint Entertainment tell People.

Congrats to the happy family! Can’t wait to see the family portrait.

Parents-to-be Joel Madden and Nicole Richie stop their BMW to say a quick hello to rapper The Game (Jayceon Terrell Taylor) in Los Angeles on Wednesday (the day after Christmas).

Nicole Richie keeps her baby bump under wraps as she stocks up on wrapping paper at a party store in West Hollywood, Calif. on Sunday (the eve of Christmas Eve). Boyfriend Joel Madden of Good Charlotte fame accompanied the mom-to-be.

The baby’s due sometime next month and is rumored to be a boy. That’s only a few weeks away. Maybe less!

In follow-up to their launch earlier this month of the Richie-Madden Children’s Foundation (RMCF), Nicole and Joel hosted a holiday party last week for hundreds of children and their families from Beyond Shelter.

“It’s hard to believe there are so many homeless families on the streets in our own neighborhoods,” said Nicole. “Estimates are that 25,000 families with 75,000 children are homeless in Los Angeles each year, and it’s getting worse. So it was a no-brainer for us to pull this party together for them for the holidays.”

The children enjoyed a fun-filled day at Paramount Studios surrounded by teddy bears, cookies, cupcakes, face-painting, balloon clowns, holiday music, Santa Claus, elves, presents and more.

“When Nicole and I learned that Los Angeles has the highest number of homeless people in the country, we knew we had to do something to help,” said Joel. “Shelters in Los Angeles are full, which means homeless families have to sleep in their cars, ride buses all night or stay with their children in fast-food restaurants because they have nowhere else to go.”

“We want to do much more to address the homeless issue, especially where it puts children at risk,” Nicole added. “But for now, we can at least try to help them have a merry Christmas by giving them teddy bears and getting them fitted for shoes.
