The Spanish beauty has recently gotten attention for her kiss with Scarlett Johansson during the upcoming movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Unfortunately, Scarlett has come out and said it was the “least sexy thing ever! There were 60 crewmen eating salami sandwiches. Penelope Cruz arrives on the red carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of Vicky Cristina Barcelona at the Mann Village Theatre on Monday.

The 34-year-old actress was recently interviewed by Newsweek, where she said the set was very crowded on the day she kissed Scarlett Johansson.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona will be released in theaters on August 15th in the US.

Newsweek conducted another strange interview–this time with Penelope Cruz, who stars in Vicky Cristina Barcelona (she kisses Scarlett Johansson in the film).

What was it like kissing Scarlett? Really, Scarlett and I have run out of lines to say about that. We’re calling Woody to give us some material. People love that subject. The only thing which is honest, the set was very crowded that day. But I don’t have anything else to tell you about it.

Did you have to do any research? Very funny.

Aren’t you a funny person? In interviews, I completely lose my sense of humor. I lose at least 50 percent, if not more.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona opens in theaters on Friday, August 15. The film is about two girlfriends on a summer holiday in Spain. They become enamored with the same painter, unaware that his ex-wife, with whom he has a tempestuous relationship, is about to re-enter the picture.

Penelope Cruz is the sultry Spanish star who finally gets some respect in Hollywood thanks to a string of high-profile roles. The 34-year-old actress takes the August 2008 cover of W Magazine.

On avoiding celebrity gossip: “I try not to go on the Internet and read about myself. It’s a guaranteed way to get angry for no reason. You start looking at yourself from the outside, from the wrong place. And everything is out of proportion. The good things, the bad things—everything. I think it’s disgusting. It’s dangerous and nasty, and bad for our society in so many ways. And it’s getting worse every day. It affects me directly, but I really believe that this culture of gossip affects our society on a much deeper level, on an ethical level. It’s what kids see and hear every day, and it will affect future generations in ways that we cannot even imagine.”

On never dishing out any personal revelations in the press: “I never talk about my private life to journalists. Never. I have a total right to protect it, and I never mess with that.”

On rumored boyfriend Javier Bardem: “I think he’s the best actor alive. I think he has an amazing talent.”

Penelope Cruz takes a big bite on the set of her new movie Broken Embraces with Pedro Almodovar in Madrid, Spain on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old actress will be teaming up with Nicole Kidman and Marion Cotillard on a musical number for the movie musical Nine. The trio will be singing a new song called Take It All.

Penelope will also be a singing a duet with Nicole Kidman, called Simple. The Spanish actress will be playing the seductive mistress, Carla, in the film.

Penelope Cruz continues to film on the set of her new movie, Broken Embraces, currently filming on Lanzarote Island on Monday.

Lanzarote Island is a Spanish Island in the Atlantic Ocean. It is the easternmost of the Canary Island off the western coast of Africa. The cast will be shooting at Costa Teguise, a popular resort with windsurfers which also has beautiful beaches and lively nightlife.

Broken Embraces is reportedly the longest and most expensive film that director Pedro Almodóvar has shot.

Penelope Cruz (in L’Wren Scott) joins director Woody Allen and costar Rebecca Hall at the photocall for their new movie, Vicky Christina Barcelona, during the 2008 Cannes Film Festival on Saturday in Cannes, France.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona, out Aug. 29, tells the story of a typical male fantasy, a romantic threesome with two women.

Woody was asked if he would ever entertain the notion himself. He replied, “You know, it’s hard enough to get one person. In trying to figure out solutions in life, two actually tends to make it more complicated than one. The characters in this movie are able, the chemistry was right, and they’re able to handle the situation. But in real life, most of us petty people could never handle anything like that. It’s hard enough to get a relationship that can work out with one person, but with two, it becomes geometrically more fatal.”
