Wearing a slimming black outfit, Penelope Cruz covers up her baby bump while working on the set of a new mystery project on Tuesday afternoon (September 8) in Los Angeles.

As reported exclusively last month, the Madrid-born actress and her longtime love Javier Bardem are expecting their first child together.

Penelope, 35, and Javier, 40, appeared together in three films — Jamón, Jamón, Live Flesh and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Penelope Cruz is expecting her first child with longtime love Javier Bardem, sources confirm exclusively to JustJared.com.

“Penelope is about four months pregnant,” a source tells Just Jared. “She’s really healthy now and will be a great mother.”

Penelope may be expecting, but she won’t be tying the knot anytime soon. She told the August issue of UK’s Psychologies magazine, “When I [have babies], I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life. I don’t know if I believe in marriage. I believe in family, love and children.”

Penelope, 35, and Javier, 40, appeared together in three films — Jamón, Jamón, Live Flesh and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Penelope has been in Germany promoting her latest movie, Broken Embrace.

Congrats to the happy couple!

P.S. This might be why Penelope decided to quit smoking.

The 35-year-old Spanish actress also recently finished her next film Nine, a musical adaptation of a Federico Fellini film, where she’ll play a burlesque dancer.

When asked about her most difficult audition, Penelope said, “Probably the one for Nine, for the musical, because I had to do many and because we had to sing and dance and things that I had not done before. But I loved the auditions actually, I knew there was no other way to get the movie without going through that.”

Penelope Cruz attends the photocall for her latest movie, Los Abrazos Rotos (Broken Embrace), held at the Hotel de Rome on Monday (August 3) in Berlin, Germany.

The drama thriller is the story of a doomed love affair between Mateo, a former film director turned screenwriter, and Lena (Cruz), a would-be actress and the mistress of millionaire Ernesto Martel.

Broken Embrace opens in the states later this year.

Penelope Cruz has kicked the habit!

“She gave up smoking about five months ago, cold turkey,” an insider close to the actress tells Life & Style. “She just decided one day she wasn’t going to smoke, and just like that, she stopped.”

And it could have been just in time: Penelope was showing a bit of a bump when she and boyfriend Javier Bardem, 40, attended a U2 concert in Paris on July 12.

“She’s definitely looking heavier,” says an eyewitness. “Her boobs are bigger, and her stomach is hanging over her jeans. It could be pregnancy weight.”

The 34-year-old actress wore a nude strapless cocktail dress with rouched detail and grosgrain waist belt by Dolce&Gabbana.

Salma was forced to miss the promotion of her upcoming musical Nine at the film festival due to food poisoning and was seen by a doctor. Nine producer Harvey Weinstein told reporters on Monday, “Tomorrow night is her premiere for her movie. She is getting better and is seeing a doctor right now.”

A source told UsWeekly that she got feverish after eating fish Sunday night.

Penelope Cruz poses with director Pedro Almodovar at the Los Abrazos Rotos (Broken Embraces) premiere at the Proyecciones theater on Wednesday (March 18), in Madrid, Spain.

At a press conference for Los Abrazos Rotos last week, the 34-year-old actress talked about winning the Oscar last month for best supporting actress for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

“The Oscar has come with me to Spain, and I am going to leave it here. For now, I have no idea what this award is going to mean for me,” Cruz said. She also said that she is currently in talks to work with Italian director Sergio Castellitto, for his latest film Venuto al mondo (Into the World). “We’re starting to talk but I can’t confirm anything concrete,” she said.
