On what she looks forward to everyday: “I’ve always looked for my sanity, my sofa time, my long dinners.”

On director Pedro Almodovar: “I became completely obsessed with Pedro. Then he called me when I made my first movie, Jamon Jamon. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was drying my hair in the bathroom, and somebody said, ‘Almodovar is calling.’ I couldn’t believe what I was hearing–I’d dreamed about that moment for so long… Now, he’s like family to me.”

On why she won’t comment on being single or not: “That’s the same as saying, This is a subject I’m prepared to talk about. And I’m not.” (She’s currently seeing Spanish actor Javier Bardem.)

On how you shouldn’t live your life: “You cannot live your life looking at yourself from someone else’s point of view.”

On her supposed love affair with Bono: “Like when I went on holiday to Bono’s house with his wife and kids… we were holding hands because we’re very good friends, and do you know what the paparazzi did to us? They took photos and cropped out Bono’s wife and children! So they made up a story about us being together, knowing perfectly well that I was there with the whole family.”

Penelope and her Spanish dancer and actress sister Monica will be making fashion waves this winter when Spanish retailer Mango opens its New York flagship in SoHo.

Mango is well established in Europe but will be opening stores in cities including Boston, Chicago, New York and Santa Monica, Calif., this year.

Penelope Cruz finds love in the arms of Spanish actor Javier Bardem, spending a romantic few days in the Republic of Maldives (in the Indian Ocean) earlier this month.

Penelope frolicked around in a black bikini while Javier wore black swimming trunks. Looks like the couple got real hot ‘n spicy out there!!

Penelope, 33, and Javier, 38, are longtime friends and starred together in the 1992 dramatic comedy Jamon, Jamon“, in which they played lovers. They started dating after reuniting and working together on Woody Allen’s latest yet-to-be-titled Spanish project.

Bardem received an Oscar nomination for 2000’s Before Night Falls, while Cruz received a best-actress nomination for Pedro Almodovar’s 2006 Volver.

Penelope Cruz and her new costar hook-up Javier Bardem are Hollywood’s latest hook-up.

According to Page Six, “Cruz showed up at the New York Film Festival this weekend with Javier Bardem, and the two were ‘very touchy-feely,’ our spy said. ‘They held hands when they thought no one was watching, and she kissed his cheek, and he put his arm around her.’ Saturday night, they showed up with Bono to the premiere party for No Country for Old Men at Gabriel’s, sat in the back room and left together.”

Wife-less U2 frontman Bono soaks in the sun with two lovely ladies — actress Penelope Cruz and former supermodel Helena Christensen — on Thursday at the Club 55 harbor in Saint Tropez, France.

Bono is one lucky man!!

The trio was seen leaving the VIP Room at 4AM looking very friendly with each other. Bono, 47, was seen taking them each by the hand and helping them board their private boat. The weather down there looks spectacular!!

Later in the day, Penelope was just spotted at Ibiza airport. She is due to film the new Woody Allen-directed flim in Barcelona alongside Scarlett Johansson and Javier Bardem.

Just yesterday, we saw her younger lookalike sister Monica in a bikini on the beach with her boyfriend Paolo.

Penelope Cruz and lil’ sis Monica Cruz celebrate their clothing collection for Spain-based fashion chain Mango on Monday at Atzaro Hotel in Ibiza, Spain.

The identical-twin fantasy actress/designer sisters (both in MNG by Mango) designed a collection together based on vintage pieces from their own wardrobes with a mix of red-carpet-inspired evening wear, jeans, knits and daywear.

Penelope has said, “This is something we’ve wanted to do for a long time. We just had to find the right people to do it with. We’ve always loved clothes – we used to hide in the bathroom with fashion magazines and say, ‘I want that one”.

Penelope, 33, and Monica, 30, plan to launch their collection on Sept. 16.
