Maggie Gyllenhaal and fiance Peter Sarsgaard take their daughter Ramona, 5 1/2 months, for a stroll along a New York City waterfront on Wednesday afternoon.

Maggie, 29, is rumored to replace Katie Holmes as D.A. Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight co-starring Christian Bale as Batman, Aaron Eckhart as Two-Face, and Heath Ledger as The Joker. The Dark Knight is set for a July 18, 2008 release.

Maggie Gyllenhaal and fiance Peter Sarsgaard are officially proud parents! Maggie gave birth to her first daughter late Tuesday, a source close to the Gyllenhaal family confirmed exclusively to JJ.

Maggie and Peter decided to name their daughter Ramona Sarsgaard. Ramona was born around 8PM at a NYC hospital. The newborn’s arrival came two weeks before Maggie’s expected delivery.

This is the first child for Maggie, 28, and Peter, 35.

Congrats to the happy couple and, of course, baby Ramona! Uncle Jake must be so proud! More details coming at you soon…

As reported over the weekend,  Jake Gyllenhaal was, in fact, out at Martha’s Vineyard this past Saturday for his father’s poetry reading.  Director Stephen Gyllenhaal read selections from his very recently published book, a collection of poems called "Claptrap: Notes From Hollywood". New York, NY :: Peter Sarsgaard isn’t married into the Gyllenhaal family yet but he’s already walking like one of them. Besides the sunglasses and scruff, Peter’s already got it down pat: synchronized steps, same head positions, and exactly the same hand and arm movements!  Welcome to the family, Peter!  Jake Gyllenhaal and Peter were spotted walking in each other’s steps this past weekend in the West Village.  They ate together outside of Bonsignour Sandwich Shop located at 3 Jane Street.  Sister Maggie Gyllenhaal and fiancé Peter Sarsgaard are currently awaiting the birth of their first child.  More pictures of the Scruffy McTwins in the gallery!

New York, NY :: Expecting mommy Maggie Gyllenhaal had lunch with fiance Peter Sarsqaard and brother Jake Gyllenhaal yesterday afternoon at a little take-out shop in Greenwich Village — Bonsignour Café, located at 35 Jane Street, bet 8th Ave and Hudson.  No double date, unfortunately.  Maggie, 28, announced back in April that she and Peter, 35, were on their way to becoming pround parents.  More pictures in the gallery!
