The Sun-Times had quite the unfavorable review of Pierce in his latest musical movie, Mamma Mia!: “Here’s a novel idea: When casting a major musical, how about recruiting performers who can actually sing? Hearing Pierce Brosnan trying to carry a tune in Mamma Mia! was painful. Unfortunately, his vocal contributions weren’t just limited to one song. Christine Baranski also was allowed to warble much more than she should have been, although her efforts were slightly less torturous than Brosnan’s.” Ouch!

Pierce Brosnan gets the support from his wife Keely Shaye Smith at the premiere of his new movie musical, Mamma Mia! at the Ziegfeld Theatre Wednesday in New York City.

The 55-year-old actor and costar Meryl Streep arrived in a BMW Hydrogen 7s - the world’s first hydrogen cars for everyday use. Both stars happily mugged for cameras and fans with their eco-friendly ride of choice, and one of Hollywood’s “must haves” for green-minded stars.

Mamma Mia! opens in theaters nationwide this Friday, July 18.

Pierce, 55, has been married to Keely, 44, since 2001 and have two sons - Dylan and Paris.

With the filming of Mamma Mia, Pierce thinks he lost some of his macho image, saying “I’m the last person you would expect to see pouncing around in platform shoes, tights and sequins. We had to do all these camp, dainty little moves and try to look butch. That was a challenge.”

Sean’s mother is Australian actress Cassandra Harris, who died of ovarian cancer in 1991, after eleven years of marriage. Since her death, Pierce has had two children with his second wife, Keely Shaye Smith. Dylan Thomas is 11 and Paris Beckett turns 7 on Wednesday.

Said Pierce about his upcoming role in the musical-to-movie remake: “I saw the show with my family in London, and found it just so wonderfully happy and joyful, and so pitched in time forever in the 1970s. What a kick in the pants, to be able to go off and spend time with Meryl on some Greek island, singing ABBA songs.”

Former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan departs LAX airport on Sunday afternoon with two of his sons Dylan Brosnan, 10, and Paris Brosnan, 6.

Pierce was last spotted with his Dylan and Paris along with his wife Keely at the “Terminate The Terminal” protest.

The 53-year-old Irish actor recently said enjoyed making post-American Civil War period movie Seraphim Falls with Liam Neeson that he wants to go further back into U.S. history to visit the Wild West.

Said Pierce, “It’s always in the cards. There’s a bunch of us Irish fellows who keep saying we should get together and make a western - myself, Gabriel Byrne, Colm Meaney and people like that. We’d just like to do an Irish film about the West. I was getting serious about that when, and lo and behold, the script for Seraphim Falls came to me with Liam attached. That film just whet my appetite further because it’s a western-themed movie. I was brought up on the kind of staple of the westerns. I just thought it all had an elegance to it.”

Environment friendly couple Pierce and Keely (Malibu residents) were stepping up their campaign to sink BHP Billiton’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) project, which would build a 14-story-high terminal off the coast of Malibu. These terminals would allows gas to be shipped from other parts of the world to the terminal and then piped through California.

Pierce, 53, was Keely, 42, were accompanied by two of their sons, 10-year-old Dylan Brosnan and 6-year-old Paris Brosnan.
