Prince Harry lays a wreath down to pay his respects to the victims of the 9/11 World Trade Center attack at Ground Zero on Friday (May 29) in New York City.

The 24-year-old British royalty marks his first official trip to the US. The young prince spoke to relatives of 9/11 victims, visited firefighters at Engine 10, greeted people at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and planted a tree at the British Memorial Garden at Hanover Square.

Prince Harry is scheduled to visit the Harlem Children’s Zone and play in a polo match Saturday at Governors Island in New York Harbor before wrapping up his two-day visit in New York.

Dubbed as the “party prince,” Prince Harry showed a more solemn, heartwarming side during his debut visit to the US.

On the wreath he hung at Ground Zero, Harry left a note saying, “In respectful memory of those who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001, and in admiration of the courage shown by the people of this great city on that day. Harry.”

Prince Harry and his on-and-off girlfriend Chelsy Davy have called it quits once more.

One senior royal source who knows the couple told The Sunday Telegraph: “It is true: they have parted. It’s amicable but the relationship has run its course.” Another royal source said: “[The couple] are still on speaking terms but they are categorically no longer an item.”

The split is said to have been “amicable”. Prince Harry, 24, and Chelsy, 23, seemed quite cozy while vacationing on Mauritius Island one month ago.

As for how official this is, Chelsy has updated her Facebook relationship status to “Single”.

Prince Harry apologized on Saturday after UK’s News of the World published video footage showing him calling one soldier a “Paki” (derogatory slang for an immigrant or descendant of an immigrant from Pakistan).

A spokesman for Britain’s royal family said, “Prince Harry fully understands how offensive this term (Paki) can be, and is extremely sorry for any offense his words might cause. However, on this occasion three years ago, Prince Harry used the term without any malice and as a nickname about a highly popular member of his platoon. There is no question that Prince Harry was in any way seeking to insult his friend.”

Harry is also heard saying, “F— me, you look like a raghead.”

A spokesperson said in response, “Prince Harry used the term ‘raghead’ to mean Taliban or Iraqi insurgent.”

Prince Harry shows off his shirtless self as he vacations on Mauritius Island with bikini-clad girlfriend Chelsy Davy on Monday (December 29).

The couple soaked in the sun on the island nation off the east coast of Madagascar, Africa (southwest Indian Ocean).

“Harry and his friends were having a great time,” a witness told The Sun of the beer bong going around. “They were daring each other to down drinks through the pipe. Harry didn’t go first but it looked like he was one of the more experienced drinkers. He looked like a man on a mission to enjoy a few pints.”

Prince William shows off a new beard as he plays a game of soccer at Castle Rising, near King’s Lynn on Wednesday, Christmas Eve (December 24).

Wills, 26, was joined by young brother, Prince Harry, 24. The princes, who are staying at nearby Sandringham for Christmas with the Queen and other members of the Royal Family, joined estate workers and villagers who divided themselves into two teams.

Prince Harry shovels and pushes a wheelbarrow as he helps rebuild a school in Butha-Buthe, Lesotho on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old prince and 26 soldiers from the Household Cavalry are in Lesotho for three weeks, working to rebuild a school for children with chronic physical and mental disabilities.

The Prince first visited Lesotho in his GAP year in 2004 on the invitation of Prince Seeiso, the brother of the King of Lesotho. The pair subsequently set up the charity Sentebale meaning ‘Forget Me Not’ to help Lesotho’s hundreds of thousands of orphans and vulnerable children.

Prince Harry said his mother would be proud of the work he and his regiment are doing to revamp a school for disabled children in the impoverished African kingdom of Lesotho.
