Here is your very first sneak peek of the 16 new designer who will be strutting their stuff as Project Runway returns for a fifth season on Bravo, Wednesday, July 16 @ 9PM ET/PT.

“I feel as though we set the bar higher every season,” says host Heidi Klum. “We’ve got some truly talented, innovative and deeply creative designers this year, and I think it’s fair to say, the most diverse – everyone from a rocker chick who mostly works with leather to a more bohemian, surfer boy –and everything in between.”

In what is sure to be the most talked-about season yet, some of the biggest names in movies, fashion, sports and music including Diane Von Furstenberg, Sandra Bernhard, Apolo Ohno, Brooke Shields, LL Cool J, RuPaul, Rachel Zoe, Cynthia Rowley and Francisco Costa will take to the panel as guest judges for season five of Runway. Tim Gunn, mentor to the designers, will also be back as well as judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia.

Project Runway champ Christian Siriano dissed The Hills stars Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port at the TAO Beach Season Two Grand Opening in Las Vegas on April 12. Apparently their fashion lines aren’t good enough!

Christian told Life & Style, “It’s really sad that if I didn’t win Project Runway, I probably wouldn’t have the sponsors I have now. I would have never been able to do what they have done because they all have disposable income, and yet their work still isn’t that great! I mean, it’s fun and flirty and young, but they’re not innovators. None of them will ever be an innovative designer. Buyers and editors are looking for longevity, and hopefully they will see that in me.”

OUCH!!!!!

In other Project Runway news, a spin-off that the Weinstein Company developed is called Models of the Runway, which, according to The Hollywood Reporter, will be a series looking at Project Runway from the models’ eyes. The spin-off, which will air on Lifetime, will follow the models who wear the designers’ clothes. Season six of Project Runway will also air on Lifetime.

FIERCE!!!!

It’s also been reported that Nina Garcia left (or got fired) as fashion director at Elle. But she may stay on the masthead as editor-at-large because of Project Runway, which has made Nina a household name and raised Elle’s profile. Garcia will reportedly stay on for at least one more season.

Project Runway will be network hopping from Bravo to Lifetime starting this fall, according to Variety.

Runway producer The Weinstein Co. signed a five-year deal to move the show to Lifetime, a female-geared network owned by The Walt Disney Company and Hearst Corporation.

As such, Bravo owner NBC has filed a lawsuit against the Weinstein Co. But in a statement, the Weinsteins thanked NBC and Bravo for helping the show get to where it is today.

The Weinsteins said, “[But] having Lifetime’s unique cable reach will ensure that the show will continue to grow and expand in the years to come. Lifetime is one of the strongest cable networks in the industry, with great leadership and a true commitment to original programming. We are very excited for the many new opportunities that will now be provided to ‘Runway’ and its fans and look forward to premiering the sixth season in November 2008.”

The fifth season of Project Runway will premiere on Lifetime in November.

NBC and Bravo really dropped the needle on this one!

Project Runway champ Christian Siriano, aka Ferocia Coutura, joins friends at the fierce Christian Siriano Dinner at the Hollywood Roosvelt Hotel on Wednesday in Hollywood

The 22-year-old designer was joined by rapper Eve, Ugly Betty actress Becki Newton (with husband Chris Diamantopoulos) and Season 2 contestant Nick Verreos, Season 4 contestant Christina “Kit Pistol” Scarbo, and Runway executive producer Jane Cha.

Where was his #1 fan Victoria Beckham??

Siriano is currently dating Junk magazine editor and portrait photographer Brad Walsh.

Not content with supermodel and tv host stardom, multi-talented mother of three Heidi Klum took to the stage at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show not only to strut her stuff in skimpy skivvies, but also to sing!

Heidi says her live singing debut was a one-time-only event done as a favor for her hubby/singer Seal. Complimented on her voice, Klum was modest. “Ah, stop it,” she said. “He asked me to do this, and I did this for him. Just for today.” Awww!

The couple’s romantic duet, “Wedding Day,” ended with a lingering kiss against a backdrop of falling rose petals.

The two reunited for another performance later in the show. This time, Seal sang solo, serenading Heidi with his song “Amazing,” as she hit the runway in a silver corset with an enormous silver snowflake on her back.

Top Victoria’s Secret model and Project Runway host Heidi Klum arrives hand-in-hand with singer and husband Seal at the Kodak Theatre on Thursday for the 2007 Victoria’s Secret fashion show.

On the pink carpet, the photogenic couple stuck to all-black ensembles - a LBD with intricate webbing details for her, an open-breasted tux for him - before changing it up for their fashion show performances.

At the after party, Seal took it down a notch, adding a white tee, and let Heidi take the spotlight in silver heels and a sequined purple, fuschia and gold minidress, with a plunging back open way way way way down to there.
