Rachel Weisz really knows how to work out black-and-white stripes in another Narciso Rodriguez creation at the 18th Annual Gotham Independent Film Awards at Museum of Finance on Tuesday (December 2) in New York City.

The 37-year-old British actress came out to support her husband, Darren Aronofsky (pictured below), who directed the The Wrestler. His film was up for Best Feature against competing films Ballast, Frozen River, Sydechodche, New York and The Visitor.

Some first-look pics of Rachel and director Alejandro Amenábar in their new ancient Egyptian film, Agora, have been released. The movie is set for a December 18th, 2009 release from Focus Features. Check out the photos at Fotogramas.es.

Rachel Weisz (in Narciso Rodriguez) attends the MoMa film benefit gala honoring director Baz Luhrmann at NYC’s Museum of Modern Art on Monday.

Aussie Hugh Jackman, who worked with Baz and Nicole Kidman on Australia, hosted the fundraiser, at which Elton John performed.

She said, “I just wished someone had made a documentary of me trying to learn the accordion because it was so silly. Then I had to learn the banjo, guitar and fiddle. Rachel Weisz dons a black-and-brown-dotted dress by Tory Burch at The Brothers Bloom press conference at the Sofitel Hotel on Monday in London.

The 37-year-old British actress, who finished off her look with two-toned Chanel shoes, was joined by costar Robbie Coltrane.

Weisz talked about her character at the press conference: “The film’s called The Brothers Bloom and I play Penelope, an eccentric heiress who hasn’t left her house in 15 years. My very first fitting with Beatrix (costume designer Aruna Pasztor) was in my house. We were talking about the character of Penelope when I suddenly ran upstairs and brought down these old boots. They’re basically a cross between a clown boot and a Victorian lace-up boot. They suit Penelope because they don’t go with anything, they’re really clumpy and they gave me a funny walk. The character came entirely out of those boots – I wear them in every single scene!”

Rachel Weisz goes green in a Yves Saint Laurent dress at the premiere of her new movie, The Brothers Bloom, during opening night of the 44th Chicago International Film Festival in Illinois on Thursday.

The 37-year-old British actress matched her dress with strappy Guiseppe Zanotti shoes. Rachel finished off with the prefect accessories: a Kwiat bracelet and a Devi Kroell clutch.

Here’s a synopsis of the film via Wiki: The world’s greatest con men, the Brothers Bloom, have made a living off of swindling millionaires with complex scenarios of lust and intrigue. Stephen (Mark Ruffalo) and Bloom (Brody), and their silent partner and sidekick Bang-Bang (Rinko Kikuchi) team up for one last job, conning beautiful heiress Penelope (Weisz) by taking her on a tour of the world and relieving her of US$2.5 million. On the way, Bloom (who has no first name in the entire movie) falls for Penelope, which complicates the con severely.

Rachel Weisz (in Narcisco Rodriguez) comes out to support husband director Darren Aronofsky at the closing night party for the 46th New York Film Festival at Josephina’s Restaurant on Sunday in New York City.

Earlier in the evening, the 37-year-old British actress attended the presentation of The Wrestler at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center (Aronofsky directed the film).

In the movie, Mickey Rourke plays an aging wrestler who is warned one more fight could kill him. “I can honestly say [The Wrestler] is the best movie I ever made and the hardest movie I’ve ever made,” he says. “I’m no spring chicken and this would be hard for a 20-year-old to do.” More Here! »
