The Grey’s Anatomy hunk has been filming his hit ABC drama, which will return in a two-hour premiere on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 9PM ET/PT on ABC.

The 35-year-old Grey’s Anatomy star recently talked about his nickname ‘McSteamy.’

“I believe the name became popular because Patrick [Dempsey]’s character McDreamy was already so popular, and I was a counterpart to him so it automatically sort of arose in the atmosphere,” he said.

“I don’t mind it, it changed my life. I haven’t seen the downside to this nickname yet. McSteamy has been good to me so far.”
