Rihanna dons Derek Lam as she takes a tattooing lesson at East Side Ink on Wednesday (July 1) in the East Village of New York City.

The 21-year-old singer’s ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown is now denying claims he was scheduled to perform at the BET Awards on Sunday and was dumped because of his recent assault case. Jay-Z was reportedly very vocal about pulling Chris’ performance due to the recent court’s ruling on his assault case.

A rep for Brown told the NY Post, “That’s not true — he was never confirmed to perform.”

Rihanna (in Gareth Pugh) celebrates the 23rd birthday of Allegra Versace (daughter of Donatella) at NYC’s Gramercy Park Hotel on Monday (June 29).

The 21-year-old Bajan beauty’s ex, Chris Brown, was a no-show at Sunday night’s BET Awards because producers pulled his performance at the last minute, the NY Daily News reports.

“Jay-[Z] is a big name in the BET community, and he was very vocal about his displeasure with Chris attending the ceremony. He didn’t want Chris anywhere near the awards so close to the court’s ruling,” a source said. While Rihanna was also a no-show, she has reportedly been spending more and more time with Orlando Magic forward Rashard Lewis.

Rihanna and ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown appear somber in their black dress and gray suit at a preliminary hearing at Superior Court of Los Angeles County on Monday (June 22).

As previously reported, Chris escaped without jail time and was sentenced to 5 years probation and 180 days of community service in Virginia in connection with his alleged assault on Rihanna back in February.

Moments after the plea bargain was reached, Chris was seen back in the music studio. The Backstreet Boys tweeted, “Just ran into Chris Brown at the studio….”

Chris Brown heads into an L.A. court on Monday (June 22), where he pleaded guilty for felony assault and received a slap on the wrist — 5 years probation and 180 days of community service in Virginia.

This plea deal follows months of speculation following his alleged assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna.

According to LA Times, judge Patricia Schnegg says she plans to issue “a stay-away” order barring Chris from having contact with Rihanna. But an attorney for Rihanna said she doesn’t want the order. More Here! »

It was recently announced that the 22-year-old’s expected testimony related to ex-boyfriend Chris Brown’s assault charges will not be televised. RiRi will most likely be called to the stand by prosecutors on Monday afternoon.

A conviction for two felony counts of assault and making criminal threats could land Chris in the slammer for up to four years and eights months.
