Robert Downey Jr. is featured in the latest issue of Men’s Vogue. Here are some snippets from the interview:

Do you still smoke? Yeah, I bring a couple, so before I have a personality meltdown, I’ll have one so I don’t unleash myself on an unsuspecting public.

Are you a believer in therapy?“No. (grins) I am a steadfast supporter of separating out all the pieces, so that it is not overwhelming. Things have changed a lot—new relationship, I got a kid, got an ex. And at this point, all I’m doing is just machete-ing the next three feet of jungle.”

Is that hand sanitizer? (points to little navy bottle he’s been grappling with) Yes. I’m a hygienically sound individual. Mrs. Downey would say I’m catlike clean.”

Rachel McAdams keeps warm in a white winter coat over a gorgeous blue dress on the set of Sherlock Holmes on location in Brooklyn, New York City on Thursday (January 8).

Post-divorce Guy Ritchie is directing the detective flick, which is set to hit theaters November 2009. It’ll be his adaptation of the graphic novel by Lionel Wigram.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. share a laugh together as they walk the hiking trails of Ojai, Calif., on Friday (December 26). The pair costarred in the 2007 David Fincher-directed crime thriller Zodiac.

Jake, 28, brought along his lady love Reese Witherspoon, 32, while RDJ, 43, had his wife Susan.

The Downeys stayed for dinner and slept over Reese’s beautiful Ojai estate. The following day, Jake and Reese went shopping together. Reese helped Jake shop for socks. Jake picked up some power tools, including a wireless drill and some drill bits.

Robert Downey Jr. and his producer wife, Susan, are all smiles as they arrive home via LAX airport in Los Angeles after a flight from London. The 43-year-old actor supported his own superhero flick, wearing an Iron Man cap.

RDJ has been busy in London filming his upcoming detective movie, the Guy Ritchie-directed Sherlock Holmes. Stills from the movie were recently released, showing a shirtless Sherlock looking kinda bloody.

Looks like some sort of fight club as RDJ looks pretty bloodied up!

Jude Law (who plays Dr. Watson) co-stars in the film and has a conversation with RDJ in the other movie still.

Guy Ritchie directs the film and Rachel McAdams also co-stars as Irene Adler. The film is set to open on Nov. 20 next year.

Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. covers the latest Entertainment Weekly double issue highlighting the 25 Entertainers of the Year.

The Tropic Thunder tops the list which also includes Tina Fey, Michael Phelps, Katy Perry, Wall-E, and the Jonas Brothers!

RDJ talks about his “darker side”, which he’s labeled as “the bad dog.” “It’s not about placating the bad dog -– it’s about feeding the good dog,” said Downey Jr. “You still have to feed the bad dog, but only enough so that the ASPCA doesn’t bring you up on charges.”

“We’re going to try to introduce something we haven’t seen before, authentic to the narrative,” director Guy Ritchie has said of his new flick. “We’re trying to make this film fresh. We should have some good fight sequences.”

He added, “My one concern was the accents but this is no longer the case. Robert Downey has the best English accent I’ve ever heard. Also Rachel McAdams is playing American (love interest Irene Adler), which is true to the books. Outside of that, Jude is obviously Brit. Robert was obviously going to be the big one, and we seem to have transcended that particular hurdle.”

Here are the very first pictures of Robert Downey Jr. filming Sherlock Holmes on Friday, currently filming in Central London.

When asked what he could bring to a character portrayed countless times on film and television, RDJ has joked: “Clearly I’m going to do it better than it’s ever been done. The more I read about it the more overwhelmed I was by the weight of it and the amount of people who will be watching to see if it’s gotten right.”
