The 27-year-old Canuck cutie, who’s continuing to drop that heft rather quickly, hopped into his eco-friendly Prius hybrid after his little shopping spree.

Ryan Gosling attends a dinner for a private screening of Lars And The Real Girl hosted by director Bennett Miller at The Hotel Plaza Athenee on Wednesday in New York City.
The Canuck cutie was accompanied by costars Emily Mortimer and Patricia Clarkson. He also turned 27 earlier this month.
It looks like Ryan is shedding all of the extra pounds he put on for the Peter Jackson-directed film The Lovely Bones, which he dropped out of. Mark Wahlberg replaced him.

So what were those “creative differences” between director Peter Jackson and Ryan Gosling over The Lovely Bones?
The LA Times reports that Ryan was too fat for the role:
“Peter Jackson was said to be quite surprised that Gosling had showed up to start work on The Lovely Bones looking like he’d donned a fat suit. According to sources, the 26-year-old Gosling had apparently told the director he was going to gain weight to age himself up to play the part of a grieving father, but Jackson was still expecting some movie star allure — not paunch and a beard. By Friday, Gosling had left the high-profile production over those pesky “creative differences,” and, by Sunday, he’d been replaced by 36-year-old Mark Wahlberg, who actually could be old enough to father a teenager.”
Page Six reports that Ryan was a diva.
“‘Peter couldn’t stand Ryan,’ said one source. Though Variety reported that Gosling had “stepped down” and was replaced by Mark Wahlberg, our source said, ‘Ryan cut his own hair, and was fighting with wardrobe. He was so demanding . . . Peter booted him two days before filming started.’”
Mark Wahlberg has replaced Ryan Gosling in the upcoming movie The Lovely Bones, according to Variety.
And just ONE day before shooting!!! (Filming begins today in Pennsylvania.)
Ryan vacated the role on Friday; Marky Mark stepped in on Sunday after quickly reading the script.
Wahlberg has taken the role of Jack Salmon, the grieving father of a young girl. Rachel Weisz will play his wife. After their daughter is murdered, the girl watches over her family and her killer from heaven.
Gosling gained 20 pounds and grew a beard for the role. “Creative differences” supposedly contributed to his abrupt exit.
Peter Jackson wrote the script with his The Lord of the Rings partners Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens.
Wow, this is major suckage for Ryan. Is there another role that he can take on now with all that massive weight gain????? Crazy!!!
Ryan Gosling addresses his break-up with Rachel McAdams in the November 2007 issue of GQ Magazine:
—- “I mean, God bless The Notebook,” Gosling says. “It introduced me to one of the great loves of my life. But people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that.”

If you’re wondering about the massive weight gain, it’s for his upcoming film The Lovely Bones. Ryan, 26, will play the role of Susie’s father, Jack Salmon. Susie (Saoirse Ronan) is a 14-year-old girl during the 1970’s who is raped, murdered, and dismembered by a neighbor. Over the next few years she watches from a personalized heaven as her family and friends deal with their grief.
The Lovely Bones will be directed by Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings, King Kong) and is set for a 2008 release.

Ryan Gosling stands beside a life-size poster of himself at the premiere of MGM’s Lars And The Real Girl at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences on Tuesday in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The film stars Gosling as Lars Lindstrom, a shy reticent whose emotional baggage has kept him from fully embracing life. After years of what is almost solitude, he invites Bianca, a friend he met on the internet, to visit him. He introduces Bianca to his brother Gus (Paul Schneider, pictured below) and his wife Karen (Emily Mortimer). They don’t know what to say to Lars or Bianca – because she is a life-size doll, not a real person, and he is treating her as though she is alive. They consult the family doctor Dagmar (Patricia Clarkson, pictured below) who explains that this is a delusion he’s created – for what reason she doesn’t yet know but they should all go along with it for the time being. Lars and the Real Girl opens in theaters nationwide on October 12.
