True Blood hunk Ryan Kwanten shows off a Dolce & Gabbana jacket and a Dior Homme t-shirt in an issue from 2Magazine earlier this year.

The 32-year-old Australian actor has signed on to star in Griff The Invisible, an Australian film about an office worker who moonlights as a superhero.

“Every boy dreams of being a superhero,” Ryan said, “and I’ve accepted my mission to bring this one to life.”

Director Leon Ford says that the film is a superhero based comedy, but at its core, “it’s a simple love story about two very unique individuals finding each other and giving the other the strength to be what they want to be.”

True Blood hottie Ryan Kwanten arrives for the announcement of the nominations for the Inside Film Awards 2009 at the Pavilion Cafe on Monday (October 12) in Sydney, Australia.

The 32-year-old star was accompanied by fellow Aussie actors Jessica McNamee, Maeve Dermody and Alyssa McClelland.

True Blood star Ryan Kwanten arrives at Variety’s 1st Annual Power of Women Luncheon at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Thursday (September 24) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 32-year-old dreamboat may have been born with an Australian accent but using a Southern one for his hit vampire series helps his focus. “Yeah, it helps me get into character,” Ryan told Just Jared. “It puts me in a different space.”

And has Ryan been watching other blood-sucking shows like The Vampire Diaries? “I can’t,” he told JustJared.com. “I don’t have a T.V.!”

True Blood hottie Ryan Kwanten keeps it cool in a pair of Ray-Ban shades on the red carpet at the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre on Sunday (September 20) in Los Angeles.

On Thursday, the 32-year-old Aussie actor and costar Sam Trammell introduced the rock/pop duet between Miley Cyrus and Sheryl Crow, who sang a re-imagined version of Sheryl’s “If It Makes You Happy.”

Jon Gosselin had to pull the plug on his Harrah’s Resort appearance in Atlantic City, N.J., this Sunday (September 6) and is being replaced by super-hot Ryan Kwanten, who plays Jason Stackhouse on HBO’s True Blood.

“TLC forced Jon to cancel,” an insider tells Life & Style, referring to the channel that airs Jon & Kate Plus 8. But he’s not alone.

“Kate Gosselin was scheduled to appear at the Resorts casino in Atlantic City on Sept. 4. However, TLC forced her to cancel the appearance,” adds a second insider.

True Blood continues to draw record ratings every Sunday night.

Earlier this week, the vamp series pulled in 5.3 million viewers (12 million if you include DVR and HBO On Demand).

A new episode of True Blood (”Frenzy”) airs this Sunday (August 31) @ 9PM ET/PT on HBO. Watch a preview below!

No new episode will air on Sept. 6 (Labor Day weekend), so the season finale will air on Sept. 13.

True Blood hottie Ryan Kwanten would like to keep his pants on but that doesn’t stop him from going shirtless in the sexy September 2009 issue of GQ.

“I led the way in the sexual-shenanigans department in the first season,” says the 32-year-old Australian native. “[But] this season, Anna Paquin is far more naked than I am.”
