Canadian hottie Ryan Reynolds (in a new pair of specs) films scenes from his upcoming movie Fireflies in the Garden at the University of Texas in Austin on Tuesday.

Other co-stars include Julia Roberts, Heroes‘ Hayden Panettiere, Fantastic Four’s Ioan Gruffudd, The Matrix’s Carrie-Anne Moss, Willem Dafoe, Emily Watson, and Shannon Lucio (she was also on set with Ryan yesterday wearing a white blazer, purple skirt and black flats).

This will be Dennis Lee’s directorial debut from a screenplay he wrote. The semi-autobiographical story is loosely based on Lee’s life and explores the complexities of love and commitment in a family torn apart when faced with an unexpected tragedy.

Fireflies in the Garden is set for a 2008 release.

Canadian cutie Ryan Reynolds arrives at LAX airport on Thursday afternoon wearing some sort of modified beanie on his head. What is that?

The rumors that Ryan, 30, and Blade: Trinity co-star Jessica Biel, 24, are a couple are still gaining steam, so it really makes you wonder. The pair were spotted dining together earlier this month and at an Oscars party last month.

Is romance in the air for Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel?

Ryan (Smokin’ Aces) and Biel (The Illusionist) left the star-studded GQ magazine Oscar party together, which was held at Winston’s bar on Saturday night.

Ryan, 30, and Biel, 24, grabbed a late night snack at Astro Burger in West Hollywood, Calif. Looks platonic but hey, this is how budding Hollywood romances blossom!

Ryan and Biel starred in 2004’s Blade: Trinity together.

As of late, Biel has been romantically linked to New York Yankees star shortstop Derek Jeter and Justin Timberlake. On Feb. 3, Ryan officially broke off off his engagement with singer Alanis Morissette.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a fan of Biel’s fashion sense (just look at her at the Oscars yesterday) but this all-black outfit works well. Agreed?

After wrapping up some publicity for his new film Smokin’ Aces, the newly singleRyan Reynolds got friendly with one of three females at Woolloomooloo in Sydney, Australia on Wednesday. Just a kiss on the cheek… for now.

When asked about his relationship with Alanis, Ryan said, “I don’t even want to address it because it just becomes fodder (for gossip), which is something I like to avoid.”

Ryan recently addressed the possibility of him playing The Flash:

Now that David Goyer’s left ‘The Flash’ project does that mean you’re off the project as well? Um, you know I was never officially on the project so…it’s just something that most of the fan boys have felt like there’s a strong similarity between Ryan Reynolds and Wally West. So, I certainly know of Wally and have read all the comic books and I’d love to jump in there and play him. I don’t know where the direction of the Flash is going to go from here though. Shawn Levy is taking it over and they may decide that Barry Allen is the one that they want in there, an older version of the Flash, and that is something that I wouldn’t be interested in playing. But if it was Wally I would definitely be curious.

Ryan recently gave an interview to Australia’s Your Movies saying he’d like to work with Eric Bana: “In terms of actors I would love to work with Peter Sellers but he just couldn’t be deader… which is too bad.
