Ryan Reynolds takes the March 2009 double cover of Men’s Health. Here’s what the 32-year-old Canadian actor (and newlywed) had to say:
On his love for motorcycles: “We’re constantly connected to information and stimulation. On a bike, there’s none of that. It would take an extremely talented imbecile to send a coherent e-mail from a motorcycle at 80 mph… There’s an old expression: There are two kinds of riders—those who have gone down, and those who are going to go down. I’ve already gone down a few times… I can’t wrap my head around wearing a full, one-piece leather outfit… I like hopping on a bike and taking off because it’s become so difficult to get lost nowadays… I’m not a speed freak pushing the bike to top speeds all over the city. I just like to cruise.”
On training for the NYC Marathon: “When you have expectations you are setting yourself up for disappointment. I didn’t expect to finish the marathon; I trained to finish it. Marathon running, for me, was the most controlled test of mettle that I could ever think of. It’s you against Darwin.”
