Earlier this month, Sarah Palin announced her resignation as governor of Alaska. Now, her former future son-in-law (and father of her grandson) Levi Johnston is speaking to Today about it:

On how Palin had discussed quitting before: “She was talkin’ about how [being governor] is a very stressful job. After the campaign and things, we had tons of offers, from everybody out there; just all kinds of ridiculous things. There had been talk about, ‘It’d be nice to just take the money and run.’”

On the rumors that Palin is getting a $7 million advance for her book: “I’ve heard anything from $7 million to $9 million. It’s up there.”

On Palin changing after she lost the last election: “[She wasn't] as outgoing. I didn’t see the spark in her eyes about being governor… The fame got to her head. Just being up there and running for vice president, it’s totally different than governor. There’s cameras every day, she had secrets service… You name it. Seeing how she acted when it was all gone, I think it definitely got to her head.”

Sarah Palin officially announced on Friday (July 3) that she will be resigning as governor of Alaska.

The 45-year-old, who was known as ‘Sarah Barracuda’ in high school, will serve as governor until July 26 before she hands the position over to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell.

“We know we can affect positive change outside government at this moment in time on another scale and actually make a difference,” said Sarah in a news conference in her hometown of Wasilla, Alaska. “I know when it’s time to pass the ball for victory.”

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is asking that Late Night host David Letterman apologize for “crossing the line” when he joked about one of her daughters.

Letterman insists he was talking about Palin’s daughter Bristol, 18, not Willow, 14, when he joked Monday that on a recent Palin family visit to NYC “during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.”

“I would like to see him apologize to young women across the country [for contributing to a culture] that says it’s OK to talk about statutory rape,” Palin told Today. “It’s not cool; it’s not funny.”

Bristol Palin, wearing a necklace of Blow-Pop lollipops, picks up her high school diploma as she walks across the stage at Wasilla Sports Complex in Wasilla, Alaska on Thursday night (May 14).

“I knew it would be hard work, but I knew I was going to do it,” Bristol, 19, tells People.

Bristol, whose mom is Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, was “point zero-zero-something” away from graduating with Honors (she had a 3.497 G.P.A.). She says she hopes to go to an area college for a two-year business degree and then a job, possibly in real estate.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is defending beauty pageant contestant Miss California Carrie Prejean for her stance on same-sex marriage.

Palin, once a beauty pageant contestant herself, said via a statement, “The liberal onslaught of malicious attacks against Carrie Prejean for expressing her opinion is despicable. What I find so remarkable is that these politically-motivated attacks fail to show that what Carrie and I believe is also what President Obama and Secretary Clinton believe — marriage is between a man and a woman. Our Constitution protects us all — not just those who agree with the far left.”

Levi Johnston, the ex-boyfriend of Bristol Palin, opens up about being a baby daddy on Monday, April 6th’s episode of The Tyra Banks Show.

The 18-year-old Alaska native, who was joined by his mother, Sherry and his sister, Mercede, sets the record straight with Tyra about being involved with Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin’s family, his relationship with Bristol Palin and the real reasons they are no longer together after having a child. He even shows off his “Bristol” tattoo on his ring finger!

Levi, who was sharing a room with Bristol at the Palin residence prior to their breakup, tells Tyra he believes Sarah Palin knew they were having sex and that they practiced safe sex, “most of the time.”

Levi shared,“I’m pretty sure she probably knew. Moms are pretty smart.”
