Selena Gomez stops off at a family-friendly Mexican restaurant in the heart of Rockridge in North Oakland, Calif., on Wednesday afternoon.

The 16-year-old Wizards of Waverly Place star and her mom, Mandy, grabbed food at Cactus Taqueria and later washed their lunch down with Slurpees from 7-11.

Yesterday, Selena’s direct-to-DVD movie Another Cinderella Story hit stores.

“She’s a little different [from the original Cinderella] by the fact that she’s a dancer,” Selena told MTV about her character in the film. “I think that brings a whole new element to the movie. She’s an aspiring dancer, and she wants to go after her dreams. She sings as well. It’s her achieving her dreams in a different way.”

Selena added, “It’s crazy to see how big Disney can make people, and it’s wonderful. I feel blessed to be a part of the company, and they take care of their kids. I just think it has a good strong foundation to lean on.”

Another Cinderella Story star Drew Seeley sat down with Just Jared to talk about his new musical comedy, his upcoming project with three singing brothers (you’ll never guess who!) and having instant chemistry with sweetie pie costar Selena Gomez. The 26-year-old actor, whose voice was blended with Zac Efron’s in the original High School Musical album, had lots to share. Did you know Drew and Selena had to suck on ice cubes before shooting some of their scenes??? Check out the interview below!

JJ: How was the premiere for A Cinderella Story (on Sunday)?

DS: It was so much fun. It was my first real premiere. Kinda overwhelming, but we had a good time. I hadn’t seen some of the cast since we shot, so it was nice to catch up with everybody. I didn’t think it would be that big of a deal but a lot of people found out about it and came out.

JJ: What can viewers expect from this film?

DS: A lot of original music, a lot of dancing. That’s how it differs from the first Cinderella Story. It’s not really a sequel, its kinda it’s own movie. It’s got great pacing and has high energy, and its something that’s just made for kids, but older people can enjoy it also.

JJ: What genres of dance are performed in the film?

DS: Hip-hop, tango, there’s a big tango scene, ballroom dancing… I play this international pop star kid. So all that kind of boy-band dancing stuff is in there too.

Disney starlet Selena Gomez (in BCBG) attends the premiere of her straight to DVD movie Another Cinderella Story at the Grove Pacific Theaters in Los Angeles, Calif. on Sunday.

The 16-year old actress stopped to speak to reporters and posed with fans on the red carpet!

Co-star Andrew Seeley was also on-hand for the festivities.

Directed by Damon Santostefano, the film has a target release of Sept. 16.

The film (via IMDB) is about a guy (Seeley) who dances with what could be the girl (Gomez) of his dreams at a costume ball and only has one hint at her identity: the Zune she left behind as she rushed home in order to make her curfew. And with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in front of him, he sets out to find his masked beauty.

Selena Gomez is seen leaving Rite Aid after buying a few things on Wednesday.

After she finished her quick shopping, the 16-year-old Wizards of Waverly Place star then left and checked her phone while scratching her nose.

Earlier this week, Selena revealed that who her song “I’m Sorry” is about. “It’s about someone back home in Texas,” she says. But Selena admited that she has been very close with the Jonas Brothers. “I haven’t known the Jonas Brothers for that long, but I’ve gotten really close with all of them,” she said.

On Sunday, Selena smiled for fans and photographers while she was going through LAX airport.

Selena recently shot down rumors that her new song “I’m Sorry” is about her rumored boyfriend Nick Jonas.

She told People, “It’s definitely not about Nick Jonas. It’s about someone back home in Texas. When I read it, I was like, ‘Oh no this gossip has to go away!’ I haven’t known the Jonas Brothers for that long, but I’ve gotten really close with all of them.”

Ms. Gomez also shared about her fave TV show, Gossip Girl: “I absolutely love it. I think the whole cast knows that I like their show. They all looked as a group and waved and smiled at me [at last month's Teen Choice Awards]. I almost had a heart attack!”
