WALSH REUNION

Jason Priestley will be sitting in the director’s chair for the upcoming 18th episode of the hit CW drama 90210, reports EW.

Priestley’s on-screen sister, Shannen Doherty, is expected to return for two more episodes later this season, one of which Priestley might direct. Says executive producer Gabe Sachs, “I think it would be a kick for Jason to work with any of his [former 90210 costars], and it would also add something special to that episode,” he says. “But we don’t know whether that will happen yet.”

Priestley’s episode is slated to air this spring.

Shannen Doherty made her small screen comeback on 90210 earlier this month. The 37-year-old actress takes the cover of the latest issue of Radar. Here are some highlights from her interview:

On how it felt to be hated by the tabloids: “I was exploring who I was as a person and testing my own boundaries and trying to be a normal 18-, 19-, 20-year-old, and I got raked over the coals. Many nights I cried myself to sleep over that stuff.”

On the worst lie she ever read about herself: “There’ve been so many. One of those bullshit rags [wrote that I'd entered AA]. They said that I was so, quote, ’scared of the drink’ that I was sleeping on my sponsor’s couch. Now, I’ve never been in AA. I accompanied my husband to AA meetings—actually, I forced him to go to one—but I’ve never actually gone for myself. Sometimes you can find some truth, a little nugget somewhere, but not one thing about this was true … But people sell their stories and make their 500 bucks at your expense, and it’s like, ‘Wow. Really?’”

The new issue of Radar, where Shannen talks germophobia, her shoe-ophilia, her Christian leanings, and her maybe-wavering Republicanism, hits stands October 7.

The CW’s 90210 gets back to the set and continues to film in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

AnnaLynne McCord, Dustin Milligan, Jessica Lowndes, Lori Loughlin, Shenae Grimes, and Shannen Doherty were seen on-set!

Shannen is also seen arriving at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City for an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman” to promote the show on Thursday.

Former Beverly Hills 90210 stars Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth are teaming up again after 14 years to reprise their roles as friends-turned-rivals Brenda Walsh and Kelly Taylor in the new 90210 spinoff show. Entertainment Weekly naturally has the scoop! Here are some of the juiciest tidbits:

EW: In Tori Spelling’s book sTORI Telling, she tells some pretty harsh stories about you, Shannen. Did you read the book?
DOHERTY: I will censor myself out of respect for Jennie because she’s friends with Tori. I got passages sent to me and a vast majority of it is incredibly exaggerated. Maybe it’s a difference of how I was raised. I just don’t believe you write personal on-set experiences in a book. For me, when you work it’s almost a sacred experience whether you get along with everyone or not. In 27 years of acting I’ve never sold out one of my cast members. Ever. And I will stick to that.

EW: In the book it says you two got into a fistfight. That sounds very badass. But is it true?
GARTH: A fistfight? That makes us sound so tough.
DOHERTY: I know. Like we were serious gangsters.
GARTH: I didn’t read the book either.

EW: You’re thanked in it.
GARTH: For what? I wonder what I did. I asked Tori if I needed to read it and she said no, I shouldn’t bother.

EW: For the new 90210, you were both involved with determining where Kelly and Brenda were in their lives. Jennie, the producers initially wanted Kelly to be a West Beverly Hills High School board member, right? How did she become a guidance counselor?
GARTH: I didn’t want to be on the show for no reason. I wanted to have some value. When Gabe and [exec producer] Jeff [Judah] told me some of the things they were doing, I was like, ”Whoa. That is not 90210, people.” They were trying to educate me [about] how teens are in high school today. It was so shocking to me that I thought I should bring a positive spin somehow. Of course, I have yet to guide or counsel anyone.
DOHERTY: I think they must have told you the same things they told me.

EW: What kinds of things?
DOHERTY: All I know is there’s a girl giving a guy a b— job in the first episode.
GARTH: When they told me that, I thought, Aaron Spelling is rolling over in his grave right now.

Rumored rivals Shannen Doherty and Jennie Garth locks arms on the new cover of Entertainment Weekly.

The reunited-at-last pair will dish on their rocky past, unlikely reunion and why the new show shocks even them! The cover feature with Shanne, 37, and Jennie, 36, will later appear on EW.com.

“There was almost a comfort in knowing that I was getting to work with somebody who had been on the original with me and gone through the same experiences,” Shannen recently told Radar. “Like, ‘Okay we’ve been through the war together already.’ I never even gave any thought to it being awkward. I know how much I’ve grown up since then. I would assume that she’s grown up the same amount.”

90210 premieres @ 8PM ET/PT on Tuesday, Sept. 2 on The CW.

This fall, the 37-year-old actress is returning to everybody’s favorite zip code, 90210, which premieres this Tuesday @ 8PM ET/PT on The CW.

The mag’s cover teases us with “her painful reason for leaving 90210–and why she came back”, “defending herself against Tori Spelling’s lies”, and “denying fistfights with Jennie Garth“. Garth is definitely signed on for the 90210 spin-off, Tori Spelling is supposedly renegotiating her pay, and Luke Perry is rumored to be returning to 90210 as well.
