The 23-year-old Transformers star has had to learn a lot about the financial industry for his role in the film. Back in June, Shia said, “I don’t know what … a credit derivative is. I have no idea. I don’t know what a CPO is. IPB. LVC. You gotta know ticker names.” He also told the AP that the sequel to Wall Street was, “a walk and talk money movie” that’s “wordy and heady.”

Wall Street 2 is set to be released in April 2010.

Shia LaBeouf takes off his tie on the set of Wall Street 2 in Jersey City on Sunday (September 20).

The 23-year-old Transformers star will play a young Wall Street broker who must alert the financial community to the coming doom, and to find out who was responsible for his mentor’s death.

Earlier this month, Shia sparked rumors of him dating co-star Carey Mulligan after they were spotted on a date together in NYC.

The Oliver Stone directed film is expected to be released in April 2010.

Michael Douglas (who played Gordon Gekko in the original movie) recently talked up the sequel, saying, “It’s 22 years later. Gordon has done about eight years in jail and got out in about 2001. The picture predominantly focuses on these last couple of years on Wall Street, which nobody anticipated. We shot the first one in 1986 and it was a wild, wild colorful time. And here we have both a train crash and a larger-than-life period leading up to that train crash. It’s an exciting time to make a picture about Wall Street!”

Shia LaBeouf shoots new scenes with costar Frank Lagella and director Oliver Stone for the much anticipated film Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps in Manhattan’s Central Park on Thursday (September 10).

The 23-year-old Transformers star will play a young Wall Street broker with Frank playing his mentor in the film.

Michael Douglas also returns in the sequel after receiving an Academy Award for his role from the first film.

A solo Shia LaBeouf jams to some tunes as he walks through the SoHo neighborhood of New York City on Sunday afternoon (September 7).

The 23-year-old actor is currently dating his Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps costar, 24-year-old British actress Carey Mulligan.

Carey’s parents weren’t always supportive of her acting career (they wanted her to attend Reading University in England). “They quite rightly were against my idea of being an actor,” she told The New York Times. “They thought my desire would wear off.”

Looks like her acting has paid off — in the form of Shia LaBeouf as her boyfriend!
