Shia LeBeouf takes hold of a shotgun while jumping out of an armored vehicle on the set of his forthcoming political thriller, Eagle Eye, in central Los Angeles on Saturday

A bloodstained Shia, 21, was spotted puffing away on his favorite cancer sticks between takes.

Eagle Eye centers around a young slacker (LaBeouf) who returns home after the mysterious death of his successful twin brother. Said slacker and a single mother (Michelle Monaghan, pictured) find out that they have been framed as terrorists, and they are coerced into becoming members of a cell tasked to assassinate a politician. Son and single mom must find a way to escape the cell and extricate themselves.

Eagle Eye is scheduled to open in theaters nationwide on Aug. 8, 2008.

Set in 1957, the new film pits Indy against Russian Cold Warriors, including Cate Blanchett, whose character, Agent Spalko, looks like the toughest Soviet customer since Lotte Lenya’s Rosa Klebb took on Sean Connery in From Russia with Love.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull hits theaters worldwide on May 22nd.

Transformers star Shia Labeouf was cleared of all misdemeanor charges on Wednesday in Chicago courts according to TMZ.com.

Shia, 21, was previously arrested outside a Walgreens after appearing drunk and refusing to leave the store.

Attorneys for Shia say that the actor is “happy to put this behind him and get back to work”.

Tomorrow, Shia is scheduled to appear in court after being slapped with a misdemeanor criminal trespassing charge earlier this month. Definitely expect updates about that tomorrow…

UPDATE: The Chicago Sun Times reports that Shia’s court date has been moved to Dec. 12th and he has to show up in court!

Filming for this movie started all the way back in June when Shia first sported the pompadour.

Shia LaBeouf suits up for his new movie Eagle Eye on Tuesday, currently being filmed in Long Beach, Calif. Throughout the day, the 21-year-old actor got his caffeine and nicotine fixes, puffing away on cancer sticks and sipping on coffee and Diet Coke.

Actor William Sadler (Carlton Fog in Traveler, Sheriff Jim Valenti on Roswell) was also on set.
