Rome, Italy :: New pictures of Keira Knightley, 21, on the set of Silk!  Keira plays Helene Joncour, the wife of French silkworm smuggler Hervé Joncour (Michael Pitt). One outfit included a 19th-century-ish walking/promenade dress with plenty of garniture.  To complete her look, Keira accessorized with a parasol, flower-ornamented hat and drawstring silk bag. (Can anyone ID Keira’s male co-star above?) Currently, the rumor mill is buzzing about Johnny Depp and Keira working together in a non-POTC flick.  They are both supposedly lined up to star in a biopic about 60’s singer Billy Fury and his girlfriend Lisa Voice. Latina, Italy :: Here are the first pictures of  Keira Knightley from the set of François Girard’s Silk.  Keira, currently at waist size -5, spent last Friday filming Silk co-starring Michael Pitt, 25, and Alfred Molina, 52, Kôji Yakusho, 50, and Sei Ashina, 22. Keira’s boyfriend Rupert Friend was always close by, lending his support to the 21-year-old actress on and off the set. Silk is based on the 1997 Alessandro Baricco novel, which tells the story of 19th-century French silkworm smuggler Hervé Joncour (Pitt).  Joncour travels to Japan to collect his clandestine cargo and begins a forbidden romance with a concubine of a local baron. Without speaking the same language, they communicate through letters until war intervenes. Their unrequited love persists however, and Herve’s wife Helene Joncour (Knightley) begins to suspect.  Thanks, Lisa! More pictures in the gallery!
