American Idol host Ryan Seacrest and BFF judge Simon Cowell have some fun riding jetskis together in the Caribbean on Thursday (January 8).

The pair squeezed in this last vacation before the return of Idol, which returns with a two-night, four-hour premiere on Tuesday, Jan. 13 (8-10 PM ET/PT) and Wednesday, Jan. 14 (8-10PM) on FOX. This season, a new judge will be joining the panel of Simon, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. Being added to the mix will be Kara DioGuardi.

Simon Cowell is spotted jetskiing and hanging out with British billionaire Philip Green while on vacation in Barbados for Christmas.

“She would, literally, be first on the list as far as I’m concerned in any capacity,” Cowell said of wanting Britney Spears on this year’s season of American Idol. “I would love to see her mentor the contestants, but if she doesn’t want to do that, and she wants to come on the show and perform, I would welcome her anytime.”

Cowell told MTV that when Britney came on the UK’s X-Factor, “The buzz we had on our show when she came on was extraordinary. And even with all the stuff that’s gone on with her the past two years, there was more excitement and interest in her than I’ve seen in anyone in years. She would be very, very welcome.”

American Idol judge Simon Cowell flexes his shirtless pecs and rides his jet ski with his former beau, Sinitta, in Barbados on Monday.

The 49-year-old Englishman really loves his jet ski! This exact time last year, he was also in Barbados having a great time with his former girlfriend, Terri Seymour.

Sinitta is reportedly playing matchmaker and trying to set Simon up with his perfect woman. American Idol Season 8 starts up again on Jan. 13!

Simon Cowell split with Terri Seymour, his girlfriend of six years… and she was paid handsomely for it!

The 49-year-old American Idol judge reportedly gave 34-year-old Terri $5 million cash and an extra $4.6 million to buy a home in Beverly Hills before officially calling it quits.

“Terri phoned Simon about six weeks ago and finished it,” his rep told Life & Style, referring to the breakup. “Simon thinks the world of Terri, and that isn’t going to change. He also understands her reason for ending it.”

Apparently, Terri wanted to marry and start a family, whereas Simon recently said, “I don’t want to marry anyone, because whoever marries me will end up hating me.”

Simon Cowell opens up to FOX News about the break-up from his girlfriend of six years, Terri Seymour. Here’s what the 49-year-old American Idol judge had to say:

On Terri being in a different stage of life than him: “She wants a different path in life, and I totally respect her for it. We will be the best of mates, but I think in relationships, you have to be totally honest. I have always been and I know Terri knows that.”

On honesty not always equaling understanding: “I find women confusing really. When you hook up and date, you’re both honest about what you want. I have never ever said that I want children or marriage. I know some people find it hard to fathom, but it’s me, it’s who I am.”

On work being of utmost importance: “Bottom line is I am married to my job. When people moan about been a celebrity, I think ‘Oh please, sort yourself out – it’s the greatest job in the world.’ I wake up daily thanking my lucky stars, but to throw marriage into that mix is not right. I have seen too many celebrity marriages that on paper make a great mix, fall apart through ego and just plain celebrity madness.”

On there not being “another woman” to blame for the split: “There is no one new in my life. I can honestly say some of my best friends are girls, but we’re not dating, and that is that. Forget any lurid tabloid headlines. Myself and Terri will remain firm friends. We’re grown ups.”
