Sophia Bush is featured in the March 2007 issue of Ocean Drive Magazine! Sophia, 24, opens up about working with co-star Sean Bean in her latest thriller/slasher The Hitcher, which opened in January. She also touches upon what she admires most in other people — things her ex-husband probably lacked.

How was working with Sean Bean? Did he teach you any Sheffield slang? I love Sean Bean. I just love him. We kept our distance at the beginning, because I was supposed to be afraid of him, so I didn’t want to become too close too fast. So instead of doing the typical thing, where the actors all go to dinner to get to know each other, we just let the relationship develop very slowly, almost at a distance. But I was immediately impressed because he’s so well-mannered and intelligent. And he’s very thoughtful—I mean, everything he says is cultured and meaningful. So the first time I heard him say, ‘F***,’ I laughed so much I thought I’d die from lack of oxygen.

You’d be okay, then. Finally, a couple of character questions: First, which quality do you value most in other people? Loyalty and honesty mean the most to me. When that’s a priority for you, the things that come out of your mouth are genuine and meaningful, and the way you treat people and think about them is genuine. I’m not a calculating person and I’m not really used to being around those kinds of people, and I’ve been bitten because of it. So I really enjoy being around honest, loyal people.

Sophia Bush helped promote her latest horror flick The Hitcher yesterday evening by donating movie memorabilia to Planet Hollywood in NYC’s Times Square. The Hitcher opens in theaters nationwide tomorrow, Jan. 19.

When asked about her “rule of thumb” for hitchhiking, Sophia answered, “”I have a rule, and it’s still the same rule after the movie: I have the highway patrol in my contacts list and I call them up if I see somebody stranded and ask them to dispatch an officer. They get help, I don’t get slaughtered. I like to help people, but at the same time, I like to keep my trachea in my throat.”

The smoking hot Sophia Bush of One Tree Hill drops by Total Request Live (TRL) this afternoon… I wonder if she’s still dating Jon Foster from the short-lived series Windfall.
