Spider-man 3 sold a record $148 $151 million in ticket sales this weekend, breaking the opening weekend record previously held by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest ($135.6 million).

Worldwide ticket sales total $375 $382 million for the first six days of release, breaking the opening record previously held by 2005’s Stars Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith($254 million).

2004’s Spider-Man 2 opened with $88.1 million and 2002’s Spider-Man with $114.8 million.

Spider-man stars Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, Topher Grace, Bryce Dallas Howard and Thomas Haden Church stop by TRL on Tuesday afternoon to promote their latest superhero flick.

Kirsten Dunst and musician beau Johnny Borrell step out together at an after-party following the UK premiere of Spider-Man 3 at The Masonic Lodge on Monday night in London, England.

The Spider-man star and Razorlight frontman flew to Japan together the Wednesday before last (video included).

Kirsten, 24, and Johnny, 26, first met at one of his Razorlight gigs in Los Angeles on March 9. Looks like they’re going strong!

Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is being made into… (drum roll, please) Spider-Man: The Broadway Musical. Can you imagine??

Marvel Studios is taking the Spider-Man franchise and extending it into a full-fledged Broadway musical.

The superhero musical will be directed by Tony winner Julie Taymor (The Lion King), with U2’s Bono and the Edge working the music and lyrics.

No dates have been set yet for Spider-Man’s Broadway debut but Spider-Man 3 will hit theaters on May 4.

Doesn’t Broadway already have a giant spider and spider web in Tarzan: The Musical?

The Spider-man cast is looking hot at the the Spider-Man 3 press conference on Tuesday in Tokyo following last night’s world film premiere.

During the premiere, harsh critic Tobey said this about Spider-man 3: “I don’t know, I kind of liked it.” Kind of??

Spider-Man 3 is set to world premiere in Tokyo on April 16 and it will be released in Japan on May 1, ahead of the rest of the world. No fair!!!!
