Anne Hathaway (in Marchesa) joins costars Steve Carell and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at the Get Smart premiere on Tuesday at the Capitol cinema in Madrid, Spain.

Here are some interesting excerpts from an interview with the 25-year-old actress by Australia’s Herald Sun:

What was the reason [you dropped out of Knocked Up]? I don’t think the reason matters at this point. Katherine Heigl did it, and did a tremendous job, you know. It was a great move for her, the film’s been out for a year, got stellar reviews and did killer at the box office. I don’t think it matters any more why I didn’t do it. (Director Judd Apatow attributed her disagreement to plans to use real footage of a woman giving birth.)

How did you cope with breaking a tooth just hours before you were due to launch the Lancome Magnifique fragrance? Oh, God, it was scary stuff. No one could see it, but I was in a lot of pain. I was in Paris and I went to a dentist and unfortunately I don’t speak French and he didn’t speak English, so we were kind of gesturing at each other, trying to pop it in. I speak a bit of Italian, but he spoke Spanish and we were like: what’s the common language? …And he came at me with a needle, and I don’t know about you, but I’m not a big fan of needles by my face and so I was kind of saying: ‘‘No, I have to be able to smile and speak tonight” and he was laughing at me saying (she puts on an Italian accent) ‘‘No, no, no it will be fine”. (She realizes it’s the wrong accent). Which wasn’t French. (Giggles) Excuse me, I’m tired.

Anne Hathaway (in Jenni Kayne) plays it cute with costar Steve Carell during a photocall with a British red telephone booth to promote their film, Get Smart, at Claridge’s Hotel on Thursday in London.

Anne and Steve were accompanied at the photo call by director Peter Segal as well as costar Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson.

Even though personal questions were strictly forbidden at the Italian premiere of Get Smart on Monday, a reporter slipped one in anyway! Anne was asked, “Was the separation from your ex-boyfriend painful?”

Steve stepped in to save the day, saying, “In my role of agent [for] Miss Hathaway, I would like to say that she does not answer questions relating to this subject.”

Newly single Anne Hathaway (in Preen) attends “Meet The Actors” hosted at the Apple Store in Soho, NYC, alongside Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert on Wednesday.

Although insiders have said Anne and her boyfriend are, “for now, not together,” Hathaway’s representative declined to comment when asked about the alleged split.

Hathaway was on Good Morning America Thursday morning and will be on Late Night With Conan O’Brien on Thursday night.

Anne Hathaway (in Bill Blass) arrives at the world premiere of Get Smart held at the Mann Village Theatre on Monday in Westwood, Calif. The leading lady finished her look with Neil Lane jewelry and satin Louboutins.

Anne, 25, ended her four year relationship with Raffaello Follieri, 29, over the weekend. She made the painful decision to end their relationship because of the effects his controversial business dealings could have on her career, an insider told Mail Online.

A source said, “It’s heartbreaking for her to dump him, and she’s devastated that it’s come to this, but she really didn’t have a choice. His scandals were hurting her reputation.”

The Office star Steve Carell hosted last night’s Saturday Night Live with musical guest Usher.

During the weekly SNL Digital Short, The Office creator Ricky Gervais introduced the Japanese inspiration for his British version of The Office, which he said is currently being ripped off by the Americans version.

Steve Carrell and Anne Hathaway star in the Peter Segal-directed film - Get Smart.

Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) is on a mission to thwart the latest plot for world domination by the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS. When the headquarters of U.S. spy agency Control is attacked and the identities of its agents compromised, the Chief (Alan Arkin) has no choice but to promote his ever-eager analyst Maxwell Smart, who has always dreamt of working in the field alongside stalwart superstar Agent 23 (Dwayne Johnson). Smart is partnered instead with the lovely-but-lethal veteran Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway).
