3rd place American Idol contestant Syesha Mercado greets her fans in New York City after leaving Live with Regis and Kelly on Thursday.

The AI Davids (Cook and Archuleta) have also been making the morning/talk show rounds, appearing on the Today show on Thursday as well.

If Syesha looked comfortable in front of the camera, it’s because she was a contestant on the short-lived ABC reality show, The One: Making a Music Star. After airing for four episodes, however, the show was pulled. R&B singer Louie Bello, who also was on The One, mentioned that Syesha was cut before a winner was crowned.

The five remaining American Idol contestants attend the launch party for BritWeek held at the British Consul General’s Official Residence in Los Angeles on Thursday.

This week marked the end of the road for American Idol finalist Carly Smithson on Wednesday after fans cast the fewest votes for her rendition of Superstar.

Simon remained positive, giving her words of encouragement. “I apologize for giving you a compliment last night, the kiss of death. You can leave with your head held high.”

Syesha Mercado, Jason Castro, Brooke White, David Archuleta and David Cook are the remaining contestants.
