Kanye West offers up an emotional apology to Taylor Swift during his appearance for the premiere night of The Jay Leno Show on Monday (September 14).

The 32-year-old entertainer from Atlanta, Georgia was extremely shaken during the interview while expressing regret for interrupting Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech during yesterday’s MTV Video Music Awards.

He also talked about taking a break after this controversy, saying, “It was rude, period. So many celebrities, they never take the time off. I’ve never taken the time off to really — you know, just music after music and tour after tour. I’m just ashamed that my hurt caused someone else’s hurt. My dream of what awards shows are supposed to be, ’cause, and I don’t try to justify it because I was just in the wrong. That’s period. But I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I’m going to make it through the rest of this life, how I’m going to improve.”

Although Kanye was set to perform, he asked for some air time to talk. During the interview, he said it was, “extremely difficult to deal with the fact that I hurt someone and took something away from a talented artist.”

Country pop singer Taylor Swift leaves her hotel in New York City on Monday (September 14) after a confusing night at the MTV Video Music Awards last night.

Taylor won for Best Female Video at the awards ceremony, however, she was caught in a bind after Kanye West ran up onto the stage while she was giving her acceptance speech.

Looks like Taylor is taking everything in stride!

At Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift was interrupted by Kanye West during her acceptance speech for Best Female Video to say that Beyonce deserved to win. The 19-year-old country cutie opened up to reporters about the incident.

“Well, I was standing on stage because I was really excited because I had just won the award,” she said. “And then I was really excited because Kanye West was on stage. And then I wasn’t so excited anymore after that.”

Added Taylor, “I’ve been getting so many text messages and everybody’s been really nice. So I’ve had a really, really fun night. It’s been interesting definitely. It’s definitely been an interesting night… I don’t know him, and I’ve never met him, so… I don’t want to start anything because I had a great night tonight.”

When Beyonce won for Video of the Year, she let Taylor have the spotlight during her acceptance speech.

“They told me to stand by the side of the stage, and I didn’t really know what was going to go down,” Taylor said. “But I thought it was so wonderful and gracious of her to do what she’s always done. She’s always been a great person before anything else. Before the talented artist, the superstar, she’s always been a great person and I just, I thought I couldn’t love Beyonce more tonight, than tonight.”

Taylor Swift fans, including celebrities, are speaking out against Kanye West for ruining Taylor’s big win at the 2009 MTV VMAs for “Best Female Video”.

American Idol’s original champ Kelly Clarkson just posted this rant on her blog slamming Kanye for his on-stage behavior:

“Dear Kanye, What happened to you as a child?? Did you not get hugged enough?? Something must have happened to make you this way and I think we’re all just curious as to what would make a grown man go on national television and make a talented artist, let alone teenager, feel like s—. I mean, I’ve seen you do some pretty s—ty things, but you just keep amazing me with your tactless, asshole ways. It’s absolutely fascinating how much I don’t like you. I like everyone. I even like my asshole ex that cheated on me over you…which is pretty odd since I don’t even personally know you. The best part of this evening is that you weren’t even up for THIS award and yet you still have a problem with the outcome. Is winning a moon man that much of a life goal?? You can have mine if it will shut you up. Is it that important, really??

“I was actually nominated in the same category that Taylor won and I was excited for her…so why can’t you be?? I’m not even mad at you for being an asshole…I just pity you because you’re a sad human being.

“On a side note, Beyonce has always been a class act and proved again tonight that she still is. Go TEXAS!!

“Taylor Swift, you outsell him ….that’s why he’s bitter. You know I love your work! Keep it up girl! KC :)”

Earlier in the night, Kanye West ran up onto the stage while Taylor Swift was accepting her award for the “Best Female Video”, grabbed the mic and shouted out, “Yo Taylor. I’m really happy for you. I’m gonna let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!” Taylor was left speechless and the cameras cut away.

Kanye just posted an apology to Taylor on his blog, which was written in all caps:

“I’m sooooo sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom [Andrea]. I spoke to her mother right after and she said the same thing my mother would’ve said. She is very talented! I like the lyrics about being a cheerleader and she’s in the bleachers! …………………… I’m in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment!…………….. Beyonce’s video was the best of this decade!!! I’m sorry to my fans if I let you guys down!!!!! I’m sorry to my friends at MTV. I will apologize to Taylor 2mrw. Welcome to the real world!!!! Everybody wanna booooo me but I’m a fan of real pop culture!!! No disrespect but we watchin’ the show at the cribe right now cause…. Well you know!!!! I’m still happy for Taylor!!!! Boooyaawww!!!! You are very talented!!!!! I gave my awards to Outkast when they deserved it over me… That’s what it is!!!! I’m not crazy yall, I’m just real. Sorry for that!!! I really feel bad for Taylor and I’m sincerely sorry!!! Much Respect!!!!!”

UPDATE: Kanye deleted this apology and put up this one: “I feel like Ben Stiller in “Meet the Parents” when he messed up everything and Robert De Niro asked him to leave… That was Taylor’s moment and I had no right in any way to take it from her. I am truly sorry.”

Taylor Swift won “Best Female Video” during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, beating out Beyonce, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Lady Gaga and P!nk.

But Kanye West ruined what was supposed to be Taylor’s big night!

When Taylor was giving her acceptance speech on stage, Kanye ran up on stage, grabbed the microphone and said, “Yo Taylor. I’m really happy for you. I’ma let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”

Kanye then shrugged his shoulders and walked off stage.Cameras panned for a reaction shot from Beyonce, who looked shocked.

Taylor stood there, stunned and speechless. The audience stared to boo Kanye as he left the stage and started to cheer for Taylor.

How rude, Kanye!!!

Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” picks up “Video of the Year” at the 2009 MTV VMAs, beating out Britney Spears, Eminem, Kanye West and Lady Gaga.

The 28-year-old singer said, “Thank you. I remember being 17-years-old, up for my first MTV Award with Destiny’s Child and it was one of the most exciting moments in my life. So I’d like Taylor [Swift] to come out and have her moment.” How thoughtful of Beyonce!!!

Taylor finally got her time in the spotlight, saying, “I’d like to thank all the fans on Twitter and MySpace and everyone who came out to my shows this summer. Thank you so much!”

Taylor and Beyonce hugged both before and after Taylor’s speech.

Earlier in the evening, Kanye West stole Taylor’s thunder by interrupting her acceptance speech to praise Beyonce.

Taylor Swift looks stunning as she arrives at 2009 MTV Video Music Awards at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday (September 13).

The 19-year-old country singer had a ‘Cinderella’ entrance when she arrived riding an ornate horse and carriage.

“I have a castle complex,” Taylor said to MTV. “I really like fairy tales.”

Taylor wore a stunning Kaufman Franco dress with Lorraine Schwartz jewels for her arrival. For her performance, Taylor opted for a 1950s vintage red dress and paired it with more Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Louboutin pumps.
