Ugly Betty will end after this season, ABC announced today.

“We’ve mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty’s final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion,” ABC and the show’s producers wrote in a statement. “We are extremely proud of this groundbreaking series, and felt it was important to give the fans a proper farewell.”

The ABC show will be cut from 22 episodes to 20 for its fourth and final season, according to EW’s Michael Ausiello.

Tennis fans will recognize Brooklyn Decker as tennis champ Andy Roddick’s gorgeous wife — she’s in his box all the time!

The 22-year-old Sports Illustrated swimsuit model is making a cameo on the hit ABC show Ugly Betty next week (October 30 @ 8PM ET/PT).

Here’s a synopsis of the ep: Betty (America Ferrera)is overwhelmed with her editorial work, so Wilhemina assigns Marc (Michael Urie) to be Betty’s temporary assistant. Betty’s story idea to cover the worst jobs in New York goes south when she has to dress up as a hot dog and do a Bollywood dance number. Meanwhile, Marc frets that he’ll never be taken seriously by his idol at Vogue magazine, Hilda gets Archie’s campaign in trouble, Daniel (Eric Mabius) hires a gorgeous but inept assistant (Decker), and Natalie introduces Daniel to the Community — a group whose charismatic leader (Dylan Baker) zeroes in on Daniel.

FYI: Brooklyn is wearing the fierce pair of Brian Atwood “Wicked” shoe in purple suede (as worn by Katy Perry and Jessica Stroup).

Check out the bright and fun new Season 4 promos for ABC’s hit show Ugly Betty.

The season premiere episode “The Butterfly Effect” airs on Friday (October 16) @ 8PM ET/PT on ABC. Betty (America Ferrera) starts her new job as associate features editor and deals with resentful co-workers; bullies prey on Justin (Mark Indelicato); Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams) harbors a secret; Daniel’s distress takes its toll, while Betty tries to run her own Mode photo shoot.

In future episodes of Betty, Shakira will play herself and model Christie Brinkley will play Penelope Graybridge, the editor of a competing fashion mag.

Brooklyn Decker will be starring in the upcoming season Ugly Betty (she filmed her guest spot earlier this week).

According to Page Six, the 22-year-old wife of tennis champ Andy Roddick will star alongside America Ferrera as the frumpy fashionista’s co-worker, Lexie.

This past Wednesday, Brookyln wrote on her Twitter, “Working on an amazing set!! Can’t tell you guys what it is… Just yet. But I can tell you.. I’m loving it and can’t wait to spill the beans!”

Too late Brooklyn, the beans have already been spilled!

America Ferrera dresses up as a hot dog and costar Michael Urie dons a bread bun costume while shooting an episode of Ugly Betty in Midtown Manhattan on Tuesday (August 25).

This seems to be an Indian-themed episode as Betty (Ferrera) and Marc (Urie) are both wearing bindis.

That costume looks to be quite constricting for America. She wasn’t even able to feed herself! America had a production assistant feed her a banana. Hah!

America Ferrera checks her cell phone during a break from filming her television show Ugly Betty in New York City on Tuesday (August 4).

This could be the makeover that Betty Suarez gets this season — braces off and all!

“She looks a lot classier,” one source told EW about Betty’s new look. “But she’s still far from perfect.”

Exec producer Silvio Horta added, “There’s going to be a progression in her look overall. It’ll still be Betty, but you’ll see some growth in that direction.”

Former Sopranos star Jamie-Lynn Sigler has joined the cast of Ugly Betty, reports EW.

The 28-year-old actress will play Natalie, the sexy, spiritual, funny new assistant to Mode magazine exec Daniel Meade (Eric Mabius). Natalie replaces Betty (America Ferrera), who was promoted to features editor in last May’s season finale.

Jamie-Lynn will debut during the two-hour season 4 premiere of Ugly Betty @ 8PM ET/PT on Friday, Oct. 9 on ABC.
