Anna Kendrick: I Get To Have My Own Journey

Up In The Air’s Anna Kendrick is looking gorgeous inside issue #63 of V magazine, on newsstands Thursday, January 14.

“It’s incredibly rare to find a role that’s this juicy written for a young woman,” the 24-year-old actress said. “For the most part, girls my age in movies exist to fall in love with a guy who’s on a journey and she’s just sort of something that happens along the way.

“Here I get to have my own journey,” she added.

Also included in V’s tribute to up-and-coming actresses are Bryce Dallas Howard and Anna’s co-star Vera Farmiga!

Entertainment Weekly Goes 'Up In The Air'

Up in the Air stars George Clooney, Vera Farmiga and Anna Kendrick takes the latest cover of Entertainment Weekly.

The flick may be the film to beat on Oscar night but campaigning for an Academy Award is similar to a political campaign, according to Clooney. EW asked him what Farmiga and Kendrick need to do to campaign effectively. “Kiss a lot of babies,” says Clooney. “I’m enjoying watching people talk about Vera and discovering Anna. I’ve been in good movies that were not successful. Out of Sight bombed, Three Kings really didn’t do well. O Brother, Where Art Thou? did okay, not great. The problem is that if they don’t [perform at the box office], then it really is going to be just Transformers. I’m not making any judgment on Transformers, I’m just saying [Hollywood will only make] those tentpoles.”
