Adam Lambert & Wanda Sykes: Out 100 Cover Stars

Adam Lambert and Wanda Sykes are among Out’s 100 - a group of 100 gay men, lesbians, transgender people and allies - in the magazine’s upcoming December 2009 issue.

The 27-year-old Idol alum was named the Breakout Star, while Wanda took home Entertainer of the Year. Here’s what Adam had to share with Out

On sexuality: “To some people, me being sexual is really offensive because I’m gay. They’re like, ‘He’s being really gay.’ And I’m like, actually, ‘No, I’m just being sexual.’ Male sexuality is frightening to America [but] female sexuality is all over the place.”

On fame: “Fame doesn’t freak me out, and I can handle it. But sometimes out in public there are people that just are so rude.

“Like, people are really cool about it and they’ll come up to you and they’re just like, “Oh hey man, I really liked you.” It’s brief, it’s sweet, it’s genuine. But some people freak out. And I’m like, why are you freaking out? I don’t get that mentality. I’ve never felt like that about a celebrity before — except maybe Madonna.

“When I met Madonna my heart was racing. That’s my one experience being star-struck. And I told her, ‘I’m freaking out.’ And she said, ‘Why?’ And I said, ‘Because you’re f—ing Madonna.’”

The Out 100 issue will hit newsstands next Tuesday (November 24). For the complete list of the 100 people recognized, visit Out.com.

Wanda Sykes’ Twins — FIRST PIC!

The New Adventures of Old Christine star Wanda Sykes shared the first picture of her adorable 1-month-old twins, Olivia Lou and Lucas Claude, on Thursday’s episode of The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.

The 45-year-old funnywoman’s wife, Alex, gave birth to the twins on April 27.

Wanda joked during the show, “Babies are very inconsiderate! Everyone said twins should be here at 35 weeks but nothing! Lots of waiting and they finally induced at week 39. I was [in the delivery room] when they did the C-Section. When the doctors tell you “Don’t look this way,” don’t look that way. It was not pretty.”

When asked if the twins calmed down after they got home, Wanda hilariously said, “No! All hell broke loose! It’s like they were tag teaming us, you put one down and then the other one starts crying. There is nothing twin-like about these babies, they are just two babies. I mean, I don’t even think they know each other.”

Wanda Sykes: Mom Of Twins!

The New Adventures of Old Christine star Wanda Sykes and her wife, Alex, welcomed twins on April 27 (Alex gave birth to the babies).

“All are happy and healthy and at home,” Wanda’s rep Danica Smith tells People.

Daughter Olivia Lou debuted at 6 lbs., 7 oz., and was 19-inches long. Son Lucas Claude weighed in 7 lbs., 9 oz., and was 20-inches long.

The couple was married on Oct. 25, 2008. Congrats to the happy couple!

Wanda Sykes: I’m Proud To Be Gay!

The New Adventures of Old Christine star Wanda Sykes is speaking about about being gay because of the passage of a same-sex marriage ban in California. Here’s what the 44-year-old comedian told a crowd at a gay rights rally in Las Vegas on Saturday:

“[After Barack Obama was elected,] I thought, man we are moving in the right direction. And then at about 11 o’clock I was crushed. We took a huge leap forward and then got dragged 12 feet back. I felt like I was being attacked, personally attacked, our community was attacked. I got married Oct. 25, I don’t really talk about my sexual orientation, I felt like I was living my life, I wasn’t in the closet, but I was just living my life. Everybody who knows me personally, they know I’m gay. And that’s the way people should be able to live our lives, really. We shouldn’t have to be standing out here demanding something we automatically should have as citizens of this country. … They pissed off the wrong group of people. They have galvanized a community. We are so together now and we all want the same thing and we shouldn’t have to settle for less. Instead of having gay marriage in California, no, we’re gonna have gay marriage across the country. When my wife and I leave California, I want to have my marriage also recognized in Nevada, in Arizona, all the way to New York. … I’m proud to be a woman, I’m proud to be a black woman and I’m proud to be gay.
