WATCH :: Prison Break Season 2 Episode 2 - "Otis"

Is it a crane? Is a train? Nope, just Clark Kent (Mike) reading the local newspaper. What is with the cons in this episode constantly reading about themselves? Do they want to get shot? Oh wait, Lincoln does, in his attempt to rescue LJ with Michael from the courthouse and failing. It’s a shame that Lincoln would presume that someone like Mahone would not understand “Otis (w)Right”? This man does puzzles for fun! I’m actually surprised that Lincoln though of it. Sounds like something Michael would think of, since he’s the brains and Linc is the brute. The Lincoln and LJ chemistry in this episode is quite touching, whether it’d be on the phone and or when LJ tells his Dad to “Let go.”

The other cons are doing just fine without the rest of the team (all they got is fried chicken!). Tweener has snatched himself a new alias and is posing as a college student on his way home during Spring Break. T-Bag gets his hand re-attached and in typical T-Bag fashion lethally injects Mr. Gudhat and assumes his identity. The creep factor in that scene was chilling and rather graphic. With a new hand, and new hair, he and Tweener have one destination in mind: Utah.

Bellick gets fired (C.O. Geary who was fired last season plays the role of snitch) and the Pope takes a stand and quits. I knew the Taj Mahal would be seeing the last of his days. I almost expected dramatic music in the background as the Pope destroyed the Taj. Poor Popie. And those are some strong popsicle sticks! On a side note, did Bellick seem ready to end his life?

SPOILER WARNING:: Bellick joins the manhunt as a bounty hunter for the reward money. Who he teams up with may be shocking. The brothers are the ones who go down in the car. All this and much more! Stay tuned next week for “Scan.”

• Tom Cruise and Paramount Pictures are parting ways. The studio will sever its 14-year relationship with Cruise’s film production company because "his recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount." "It’s nothing to do with his acting ability, he’s a terrific actor.  But we don’t think that someone who effectuates creative suicide and costs the company revenue should be on the lot." Cruise’s partner, Paula Wagner said their company has already obtained commitments from two hedge funds, whose names would be announced soon.
• Star reports that George Clooney and Ellen Barkin are an item, saying the two got close while filming on the set of Ocean’s 13.
• Us Weekly reports that Eddie Murphy is about to pop the question to former Spice Girl Melanie Brown.  A source says, "They are already living together at Eddie’s house," and"Each got a tattoo of the other’s name."  Um, barf?
• Michael Angarano, aka Jack’s long-lost son on Will & Grace, joins the cast of 24.

Thanks to the detective work of White Cleats, it looks like we’ve broken the code to Michael Scofield’s (Wentworth Miller) secret message hidden in Sara’s (Sarah Wayne Callies) origami swam.  It’s similar to a type of encryption called substitution cipher — each dot series represents a number.  Once they’re written out as such, if you add them in a column you get 9755867655, aka (975) 586-7655.  RING, RING!  "Hello, Wentworth?"

White Cleats adds, "Earlier in the season premiere episode, we were shown an itemized print out of Michael’s credit cards bills, which listed an answering service; I’m fairly certain that’s the number with which to call it."  And Bingo was his name-o!  If you missed Monday’s Prison Break season premiere, watch it below!

Sorry for the delay in the little "surprise."  Basically, Just Jared is teaming up with Fox to allow full streaming (at least) of the first three Season 2 episodes of Prison Break!  Very exciting as you can watch these PB episodes as many times as you want… commercial free!  If you missed the premiere last night or want to re-watch it… go for it!

Now onto the recap… What a season premiere! The departure of one major character (RIP Veronica), the arrival of a new one, FBI Agent Mahone (thank goodness he was renamed from Buck to Alex), and what will the fugitives do next?

Veronica’s exit was expected (did her picture need to be removed from the credits that quickly?) but was ultimately sad. Were the two body bags really necessary? However it was moving to see a big man like Lincoln break down from hearing her die. Ouch. I guess the good doctor is the last woman standing. And yes, she is alive and we will not be seeing the last of her since Michael left her a cryptic message (what was with the dotted code on the bottom? — pictured above) in his signature origami crane.

Invasion’s Bill Fichter is an excellent addition to the show. His menacing and equally calculating Mahone is the antithesis to Wentworth Miller’s Scofield. So is Scofield really as clever as he thinks he is by leaving a scent of cookies for Mahone to follow? Or has Michael finally met his match? Although Mahone with a cheat sheet of the tats does not exactly make him too smart in my book. And what’s with the pill-popping? Sounds eerily like another Fox character. I’m looking at you, House.

It was so amusing to see Lincoln and Michael (aka Archie Ryan and Phineas McClintock) with the best disguises, and they were wrinkle-free. Must be some powerful fabric! Abruzzi’s high water pants were a vision in themselves. And that train sequence? Pretty intense. Very nice opening Fox. I’m still giggling over Bellick’s “I will gun you down Scofield!” By the end of the episode, it looks as if the gang has already gone their separate ways. And another prison break in store for the brothers? Stay tuned next week for “Otis.”

What do you guys do on set during breaks? I’d like to say none of us dives for our BlackBerries and iPods when they yell, "Cut!" but we do (laughs). We have become very much like a fraternity. There are some practical jokes but more with the quick one-liners. We all pretty much know each other by now and we know what buttons to push. 

In a KISS 106.1 radio interview this morning by Seattle, WA’s "Jackie & Bender," Wentworth Miller revealed that if someone hugged him, the smell that would linger on his/her shirt would be that of chocolate chip cookies.  "I got a sweet tooth like nobody’s business," he gushed.  Wentworth also mentioned that he misses growing his hair out since taking on his role in Prison Break. Wentworth Miller presented the award for Choice TV Actress to The O.C.’s Mischa Barton (who was given a sandwich by host/comedian Dane Cook) at last night’s Teen Choice Awards with Prison Break co-star Amaury Nolasco and singer Christian Milian.  Watch the video of them presenting below!

Wentworth, 34, visited the My Scene Fab Faces Dolls Celebrity Retreat Tent after the show and showed his support for cancer research by signing the pink City of Hope Surfboard.  BE GOOD, YA HEARD?  More pictures in the gallery!
