Here’s what the the six-time Grammy winner had to say about being a sex symbol at 46: “Sexy can be sexual without having to expose a lot of yourself. Your body can express a lot without your having to take off a lot. I try to splash it in there a little bit, just by body movement. A smile, a little glance, the way you lean back says sexy without being too open or offending anyone. Because once they’ve seen it all, they go, ‘Man, I’m bored with that,’ instead of ‘Hmm, what’s she going to do now?’”

Whitney Houston will perform at the 2009 American Music Awards, JustJared.com can confirm.

The 46-year-old singer will join other previously announced acts including Rihanna, Green Day, Shakira, Mary J. Blige, Daughtry, Keith Urban, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, The Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert. This is going to be one heck of a show!!!

The show will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on Sunday (November 22) @ 8-11PM on ABC. You can still vote for your faves at ama.abc.com!

Whitney Houston performs live on Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series at Rumsey Playfield in New York City on Tuesday (September 1).

The 46-year-old singer performed four songs before apologizing to the 5,000 fans as she lost her voice while singing. “I’m so sorry. I did Oprah. I’ve been talking for so long. … I talked so much, my voice,” she said. “I shouldn’t be talking. I should be singing.”

Whitney long-awaited new album, I Look To You, is the first album she has made in seven years.

Whitney Houston’s album listening parties in New York and Los Angeles were such hits, Arista Records has moved the release date of her much-anticipated album I Look To You up to August 31st.

As a gift to her fans, a free download of the album’s title track is available now at WhitneyHouston.com until July 31st.

I Look To You, Whitney’s 7th studio album, has been produced and written songwriter Sean Garrett and R&B singer Akon.
