Source confirm to E! News that MTV is officially spinning off The Hills into Whitney Port’s own reality TV series.

Emily Brill, the 20-something daughter of Steve Brill, the founder of Court TV (now known as TruTV), blogged about the news last week.

She wrote, “Last night, MTV’s The City (The Hills spinoff starring Whitney Port) shot a dinner party scene at [socialite] Olivia Palermo’s apartment. Participants included Whitney, Whitney’s boyfriend and Olivia Palermo.”

The City, which will follow Whitney working for Diane von Furstenberg in NYC, is set to begin airing in early 2009.

The Hills star Whitney Port is continuing to make her climb up the fashion world.

According to Fashioinista, the 23-year-old aspiring fashion designer will be quitting PR firm People’s Revolution to do in-house PR for designer Diane Von Furstenberg.

This will all go down during Season 4 of The Hills, which premiered this past Monday.

The DVF offices say they “can’t confirm” anything. And there’s no word on whether Lauren Conrad will follow in her footsteps once again.

The Old New Kids On The Block performed that night with a mix of songs from their heyday!

Laguna Beach spinned off The Hills and now a new series is being spun off for none other than Whitney Port!

A source tells Us Weekly that the new show will follow Whitney, 23, as she continues to work for fashion PR firm People’s Revolution and befriends a group of NYC gals (including socialite Olivia Palermo).

Says the insider: “There will be more blondes in the city than you ever expected!”

The Hills star Whitney Port is rainbow ready as leaves the Newsroom cafe with a friend in West Hollywood on Friday.

When asked about tensions on the show, she responded, ““Living with girls can be really difficult and it’s inevitable that you aren’t always going to get along.”

The 23-year-old actress has been busy filming with her higher profile co-stars, Lauren Conrad and Audrina Patridge.

Lauren Conrad shoots an episode of The Hills at Area in West Hollywood while co-star Audrina Patridge goes shopping on Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Whitney Port was also seen shooting on-set with Lauren.

Audrina and Lauren were both seen out and about in Los Angeles, heading to fashion shoots and grabbing lunch!

The pair prepared for the Live from The Hills Season Finale Pre-Show, which is being held at the Beverly Hills mansion. The event will include a live performance by Usher, who will sing his hit single, “Love in this Club.”

Earlier in the day, Lauren was seen purchasing groceries at Bristol Farm’s and picking up her dry cleaning.
